Trip Report No rain, no lines, no crowds, no ADR's, no fastpasses, lots of fun and pool time.

OK, so I am starting my very first trip report. We went Sept. 7-15 and stayed offsite the first night then 7 nights in a one bedroom at Bay Lake Tower. This was an anniversary trip...she has tolerated me for 31 years of marriage now...something that still amazes me.
The first day we arrived around lunch time after driving through masses of lovebugs. We got there during what I understand is the beginning of the fall lovebug season. Wife's new car, white with lots of front bumper space, was covered in the little pains in the you-know-what. We stopped at a couple of gas stations just to top off the tank and try to clean them off a bit (felt we should add a bit of gas since we were using their window cleaner and water and paper towels).
Arrived at DTD, which has become our traditional first stop, and enjoyed the afternoon. Later went to the offsite room, checked in, freshened up a bit then back to DTD for the evening.
Ate at Earl of Sandwich a couple of times on this trip. Walked around, did some shopping, looked at the construction, or I should say at this point construction preparation and deconstruction, and back to the room early after a long day.

The cast of characters for this trip are Mr. and Mrs. epcotisbest, seen here at Epcot last Wednesday with a couple of other suspicious looking characters:

We are hopeful for the changes coming to DTD, but hope it does not become too much of a shopping mall. Time will tell.
We like Rainforest Cafe and saw the remodeled volcano for the first time. It seems to me a company that talks about the environment a lot is not very environmentally friendly with all the gas used in the eruptions...just sayin'.

We have gone to WDW and not carried a camera, we have so many pics already, but decided to take my wife's little Canon point and shoot this trip. Left the Nikon DSLR at home. Quit carrying it a long time ago. The Canon did OK.

Plenty more to come, a little at a time.

Electing to skip dessert, though the cupcakes and cream puffs looked great and they only serve the grey stuff in the evening, we had a nice slow lunch, recharged an old, tiring back, upped the sugar level with all the carbs (but only had about four of the fries) then walked through the circus area then caught a train for a circular trip around the whole park.

I remember when TTA was the WEDway PeopleMover. Bonus points if you knew WED was Walter Elias Disney. From there we went over to Monsters, Inc. Laugh Floor and paid a visit to Roz, Mike and the gang.

My wife was called on to talk. Where are you from? Georgia... Oh, yeah that's near the Eiffel Tower!

Blurry, but that is her:

That is when the battery died in the little Canon. Silly us, we have a camera with battery that needs recharging. In my DSLR there are dual batteries in the grip and I can shoot for days and days. Anyway, without a photo record, I'm going by memory. Parade at 3 as usual, but we don't stake out a spot early, just come up once it gets started, and if we can't get right in front of people who have been waiting for an hour (kidding) we just watch from behind.
From there it is off to visit the Hall of Presidents. Another classic we seem to always do. Wandered around a bit just enjoying being there then watched a show at the stage in front of the castle.
Then it was getting time for MNSSHP people to start coming in early and there were quite a few showing up. Now I don't care for halloween, but even if I did I can't imagine being in warm and humid Florida in some of the costumes we were seeing. Unbelievable to me how many adults were there for the party without children too. Not trying to be judgmental, I just don't get that. And some of the costumes, IMHO, were quite inappropriate for a family park. To each his own and I know there are many many people who really like halloween. I'm just not one of them. There were some cute families there, including many pirates.
We started heading for the exit, taking in most of the shops along main street and then there was another parade/street party dance Move it. Shake it. Celebrate it. thing and that was fun. Thought about hanging around until the last minute at 7 when we would get tossed out, but I was getting plenty tired by now, and the pool and hot tub at BLT were calling me.
The hot tub is a blessing after a long day at MK. Funny how the walk back to BLT was at least three times as long as it was coming over in the morning.
After a late dinner in the room, we went up and watched the hallowishes fireworks from Top of the World Lounge. Good fireworks, but I did not care for the soundtrack with it. Give me Wishes and Tinkerbell any day!
We turned in both looking forward to Epcot on Wednesday.
More later.

Refreshed by the Dole Whip appetizer, we decide the main lunch crowd is probably gone and head back over to BOG. Right again. The line was just outside the building, they were handing out water and umbrellas for shade to guests waiting and this would be our only line for the entire week, and we were inside and ordering within 10 minutes.

Thanks for the memories! That's where we were for our lunch there. I hope you enjoyed it as much as we did.

Love your comments as much as your photos! I've only been on the MK railroad once, something I need to do more of.
I missed not having a hot tub at the Poly. Amazing that there is not one there.

It must have been wonderful without the crowds! I'm jealous!
Maybe with the DVC addition at Poly will come a hot tub. It does not make sense there is not one now. The low crowd level in early Sept. always amazes me. Thanks for reading.
