No more "Pirates", Layoffs, etc.

With the possible exception of the fireworks, I found the P&P party to be flat. I'm OK with the Halloween and Christmas parties, but they need to reduce the number of parties held. I had a hard time with a Halloween party the first week of Sept!

Actually, I'm getting pretty fed up with the hard-ticketed parties all together. The prices have gone way up and the AP discounts have all but disappeared.

Pirates and Princess was the dumbest thing ever im so happy its leaving. Can they also get rid of Mickeys halloween party and that dumb christmas stuff as well? The holiday stuff should be included with your regular park ticket not a seperate hardticket event!

Also, I hope the layoffs start with Meg crofton and Phil holmes who have been nothing but problems for Walt Disney World! Especially Phil Holmes who has done more damage to the magic kingdom park than a person can possibly imagine.
Wow, angry much?

I'd give the advice to go ahead and accept the existence of the Halloween and Christmas parties, because they're insanely popular, and they make WDW a ton of money. I go every year, and love it every year, and I'll continue to go every year. ;)

I'm with those that don't care about the P&P thing at all. Like all other hard ticket events, it's ridiculous. We did the MVMCP last year, and I'm glad we did, just so we know never to do it again. Complete waste of money. Can't imagine any other "private" shin-dig being any better.

Honestly, they could have and should have gotten rid of P&P a long time ago. It should have just stayed as a non peak time party, but I recall them doing it during times when it was packed and busy and I thought that was stupid. Oh well, I figured I would one day try it, but I guess I wont get that chance. Cant say Im sad about it either.

Can they at least replace Wishes with Magic Music and Mayhem so I could see it in person?

Here's an idea for Disney, stop spending millions on idiotic ad campaigns and put that money in the parks! I know there needs to be an added push to get people to come at this time but new rides/attractions are much more exciting than one person for a day getting a gift card.

That's really too bad. I enjoyed the P&P Party the time I got to go to it. The fireworks were amazing and I still can't believe how well they put that show together. I would have went to the P&P Party again if it ever was on during one of my visits. It was fun to have the park empty enough to walk on pretty much any ride you wanted.

While I agree that it is fun to walk on every ride and have MK all to yourself the price for the hard ticket event can be steep for a family. We could never have taken all our kids when they were young, too much extra on top of tickets to the parks regular hours.

I love MNSSHP and will go again in October (my new favorite time to go) I won't visit at Christmas again, too busy, so I would never go to the Christmas party. I am not surprised about the cut back in hours either, in fact I think it is proactive and a good business move. I was surprised to read another post about all the things cut back and closed after 9/11. I never knew it was that bad. I guess the nation had other things on their mind during the months after the attacks. I hope it never gets that bad again.

I agree completly with that, Wishes has had its run and it's time for something new.

Its only been like what 5 years? The firework before wishes, Fantasy in teh Sky, ran much longer than that. I doubt they'd get rid of wishes any time soon. Though I would love to see this other firework show as Ive never seen it, I doubt disney would rid wishes for it.

I don't think people should worry too much. We went though this doom and gloom stage after 9/11, it's natural.

Once the dounturn starts to ease we will see things back on the up again.

No need to panic yet.

I agree.

Here's another idea - Hire some friendlier, more knowledgeable people at CRO. A work colleague of mine, not very familiar with Disney, called to inquire about the 7 for 4 special. He got a rude, unwilling to help CM who wouldn't bother looking at different resorts and dates. I agreed to help him out, but not everyone knows someone that is as aware of the 50/50 Disney CRO policy these days. Most people would just say "Screw this" and book a cruise. Disney needs to get it's head out of it's butt and address this problem once and for all. As a consumer, it sickens me the horrible customer service attitude so many CM's at CRO have nowadays. These calls you feel as though are a hassle to deal with are PAYING YOUR SALARY!!!!!! As someone who knows what Disney service used to be like, it's even sadder.

I have never dealt with a rude CM at CRO. In fact, they've always been more than helpful. Especially with ADR's. Sorry to hear that someone had a bad experience??

I dunno M3 looks too overly Disney to me...It reeks of OMG HAPPINESS DISNEY FIREWORKS PIXIE DUST!

Wishes does that too but in a quieter more classic way.:)
In various versions; it wasn`t the same show since 1976.

Wishes will continue to be plussed.

Ah good news...But this suggests that things have already changed? If so, what?

Completely agree. I've always thought Wishes was "dignified Disney;" the perfect amount of magic and pixie dust to make you feel all warm and fuzzy. :)

And interesting to hear things in Wishes are being/will be plussed.
