Found this on youtube with the alternate ending!

Yikes. Wow, that's definitely not the same - it damages the transition from Sorcerer Mickey to Original Mickey, and it's definitely out of place. At least there's that one month refurb in January, but why did this have to happen now when we're entering another peak season?

And as previously said, I hope they take advantage of the refurb and make improvements on the stuff that's working poorly.

My strong suspicion is that they'll fix the most glaring things, but leave most of the smaller details untouched.

Other than Mansion and HoP, I can't recall a refurb at WDW that actually fixed everything that was broken and even improved the overall show quality.

Star Tours? Although I'm not sure if anything was truly broken before hand.

I don't consider Star Tours a refurb, although I get why some might.

It's really an entirely new attraction simply using an existing ride system and show building. I agree that you can argue it ... And I do LOVE the new ride and I am most definitely NOT a Star Wars geek.

What's strange is that if you look at a park like Epcot, there have been significant upgrades to many attractions in the last 15 years, with the current incarnation of future world being younger than the Animal Kingdom at this point.

I'm optimistic that the Big Thunder Mountain Refurb will fix the broken effects and perhaps enhance what is already there. I know people have their opinions of Pirates of the Caribbean, and while I agree that it wasn't as good as the Mansion updates, I do appreciate some of the changes there as well.

As for Star Tours, I agree - that's a new attraction. That's like saying Stitch's Great Escape is a refurbished Alien Encounter.

This poses the question on Test Track - how will the upgrades be perceived there? Will it be viewed as a new attraction or a refurbishment?

Ah, finally a post after trawling all 17 pages, but I must say I have found it a thoroughly enjoyable read. Those who want to boot valid contributors don't be so quick to react to something you don't like. I'm not really a forum nut but when I read intelligent discussion about something I'm really passionate about it really draws me in. Touché.

On topic - I don't know whether I can bring myself to watch that link of the alternate ending. I was there in September with a friend and my first viewing - no Sorcerer, bad times. Next time I got Sorcerer but no Beast or moving snake, wet times - understandable. So it just seems that this lift may have been on and off for a while.

It is / was one of my favourite attractions at WDW and my love for Sorcerer Mickey truly blossomed that warm March evening of 2006 but it is a shame to see it / hear about the state that it's gotten itself into.

By the sounds of the people in the know here only minor things are getting fixed in the monster 45 day refurb (...) but something as major as Sorcerer's lift, will they fix that?!

I have no idea what will get fixed. I firmly believe it won't be much.

And nothing like a certain Twitter dude (who has become a personality in his own mind by answering questions of fans) suggested months ago when he tried to get folks to buy into a WoCish/TDS Fantasmic-ish redo of O-Town's show.

That just ain't happening no matter how many wish for it.

I just hope they make the show watchable again.

A recap from last night-

The dragon went out for the Brave Little Tailor scene, but then failed. Still no sorcerer, but now if the dragon is still out on the island Mickey isn't allowed to go out at all. So after the Steamboat scene you had no Mickey to say "Some imagination, huh u-huh".

Why keep putting on a show that has only a quarter of an ending. I was there in early october and noticed this along with my 5 year old son. If the show is broke fix it. I paid a lot of money to see premium entertainment.

I'm not talking about just F! its about all the other things that are falling apart at WDW. How about just better general maintenance of the attractions and shows. The same food at pretty much all of the food stands or all the generic merch in every store. I didn't buy much while I was down there because you could pick up any piece of merchandise at any location on property. It was my brother in laws first time ever and every day at the magic kingdom all three mountains were down at some point in the day. One day we were there all three were down at the same time. He wasn't very impressed with the upkeep and wanted to know if this happens every day. Not good show.

You don't pay mony at the movies only to have the ending cut off and NOT expect the movie theater to reimburse you, do you? Disclaimers are not legal exemptions.

Personally, when I FINALLY went to see Fantasmic about a year ago, I was extremely bored and disappointed (I moonlight on Broadway, so there is nothing Disney can do at its parks shhow-wise that will ever impress me). I cou;dn't believe that THIS was being so highly praised. The ONLY show that comes close to impressing me at Disney Festival of the Lion King...but only by way of the acrobatcics and lighting design.

Just to expound upon that logic: what is your tipping point? Will you consistantly praise WDW no matter what or how long a problem persists?

I understand you may be happy with the current state of affairs in Orlando but there has to be a limit that even the most ardent supporters would agree on.

multiple attractions missing major show affects? I think that is reason enough to take notice and at least be concerned.

Did you get to see Finding Nemo: The Musical?

Yeah. You beat me to it, Drew.

A friend saw the show and said the same thing ... dragon came out and never left ... Sorceror Mickey a no-show.

And I'm sure if you registered a complaint at Guest Relations that the CM would look very interested and tell you how seriously they take your feedback and then tell you to go have a MAGICal night!
