And there Disney safe.....

AC/DC would be very kewl too.....

Yeah I could just imagine them playing Dirty Deeds or Big Balls as your going through the Hollywood sign...(not very disney)

Although...I guess they wouldn't need to use those songs...I mean, they didn't use Aerosmith's "Big Ten Inch"

However, Bon Jovi stopped being cool in 1989.

Obviously you are not aware of their gigantic success with their last multi-platinum album: CRUSH. I know they were not "loyal" to their style with their last work, but as I said before, it's not about "COOLNESS", it's about popularity right now, and Bon Jovi is worldwide popular right now, again.
They sold out to become popular again? Probably, with some cheap songs like "Thank you for loving me", but haven't Aerosmith changed their style, too, in the last 10 years? YES. If you have Big Ones you will probably tell me Aerosmith always was the same, since their begining in the 70's, but the truth's lies inside "Pandora's Box" triple album and the many unsuccesful tunes and poor records they did before coming out with GET A GRIP and saving their career.

I'll agree with you there....but Aerosmith has world-wide appeal. Bon Jovi isn't anywhere near that point of popularity. Sure, their last album may have been okay (at best), but they no longer have the super-stardom they had in the 80's, and their rock is soft at best.

Not the type that would be used for a roller-coaster.

Based on what? Their still filling stadiums in Europe, despite the current vogue of dance pap.

there are very few supergroups left and fewer still that have cross generational appeal.

Most new bands will never last beyond three albums. So if it does have to change theyll struggle to find a relacement, They could always change the pre show to something about a reunion concert.

Yes, I love U2 but I have to agree...WAY TOO POLITICAL...

But, if you take pieces of songs (like they do with at least one of the Aerosmith tracks), people wouldn't even get the jist of the political background of them.

I wouldn't play "Bullet the Blue Skies"

U2 has VERY SAFE SONGS though.

The last "Aerosmith album was: Just Push Play"
But, they have recently released (yet another) greatest hits package that includes a couple of new songs but 30 songs all together. (like what they did with Big Ones...a bunch of their hits with a couple NEW tracks)

Speaking of Aerosmith...

Does anyone out there like "Nine Lives" and "Just Push Play" other than me???

Don't get me wrong, I love their old stuff...but I like the new stuff too...just different styles.

I liked Nine Lives so much I never even bothered buying Just Push Play. And the last live show was great but they only played a little over an hour... I know their getting old ..but

As for U2 great band, if only Bono would stop thinking he can change the world.. And all the stuff from Boy to Rattle n Hum era would be most apt.

Actually, I'm seeing Aerosmith on the 24th of August...but...

I am shocked to hear that they only played for a little over an hour...I saw them last year and they played for a little over 2!

(maybe it's because I live in Mass...where they are from)

But, I do have to agree...Bono isn't GOD (like he thinks he is)...NO PERSON can save the world...NOT NOW it's too far gone! Way too political and preachy...When you're at a concert and they bring up Charlton Heston and the gun situation...it kinda loses it's "FUN FACTOR"

I was present when they had Salmon Rushdi ( the author threatened with a fatawah) on stage that was sureal. I also saw them sound check and it was U2 ,me and about 20 others in front of the stage at Wembley, they played So far So Close, Bono walked to the edge of the stage and said to me "was that all right". I really wish i had had the bottle to wind him up and say it was pants but i just said yes great

Why is U2 getting so much praise for "constantly changing their musical style", while Madonna was almost instantly shot down? She has changed herself so many times I've lost count. And why does the star of RNR have to be a rock group? "Rock n' Roll" is a term that doesn't just mean rock music, which by the way, Madonna has delved in lately. Also, she is still immensely popular, with her last tour selling out in record time and also has more hits, that would definitely fit in RNR, than any other person/group that has been mentioned. So what gives?

Its nothing to do with the fact that her music is dross ( IMHO)but more to do with the fact shes an old slapper. Im sorry but Maj is just toooooo far up her own jaxie to be taken seriously.
As for her tour selling out - we all have standrds and mine dont go that low.:animwink:
