NO JINGLE CRUISE

Speaking of IASW, is any attraction more in need of an upgrade? Get some Alice in Wonderland type projections in there. Paint those ceiling tiles to different colored skies. Some rooms with blue sky/ cumulus clouds, some nighttime with stars. Also paint those background walls.

And do something about the nasty, dirty carpet all around me.

Good riddance! Cheap overlay that only serves to make the lines way longer than they need to be. I've never found it to be worth the extra wait.

Excessive downtime of popular attractions for no good reason and damage from installation and removal of props is reason enough to eliminate holiday versions. That time should be used for real refurbishments, which a lot of DL attractions don't even seem to get anymore. There's an "Ah, screw it, as long as it runs" attitude and HM returns from removal of holiday overlay with obvious damage and missing or broken elements. The resort is way too crowded during the fall anyway. If it means everyone has to experience The Haunted Mansion the way God intended it to be without some guy power drilling an ugly ribbon onto a charming tombstone, then so be it. Just a reminder, for 5 months it's that version.

Honey, you need to get a clue. I kicked that two-bit, nobody to the curbs weeks ago.

Do you need a new hatbox?

Clearly, I have too much time.

Were you not around when they added characters to the ride?

Lol oh ya I still hear a few complaints about that. I find that even the most conservative of fans will get behind cosmetic upgrades like lighting, projections and painted backgrounds. So people would complain about not being able to see the ceiling tiles or dirty carpet anymore? The characters are a different story because some perceive it to alter the content/ meaning of the attraction. The characters don't bother me. The music that accompanies them does.

I wonder if it because it hasn’t responded quite well the over general public? Rather than what perhaps is cited for reason why?

I'm just fine with Jingle Cruise going away. It wasn't clever enough to carry all that ugly. If it comes back in a retooled version, it needs more visual wit.

They just tried too hard on that one. I say retire it for good. I was running down the list of attractions at the park and I can't think of one where a holiday overlay wouldn't feel forced. Well ok, what if Santa and his reindeer crashed into the Forrest surrounding Autopia or TSI? No? The latter would at least move folks to a very underutilized part of the park.

Yeah, they sure did. The premise was just too thin, and they overcompensated with the volume of the crap strewn around. I'm not one to fall back on the "Walt would have hated that" position, but in this case I'll make an exception.

From a contrary (non-AP) perspective... I really enjoyed my first visit to experience Christmas at DL last year. Personally I don't want to see all the overlays go... but at the same time it was my first and likely last for several years holiday-time visit. That puts me in a very different category than the rest of you who will face HMH over and over again each season.

Personally I really liked the change-up of the overlays. I also liked Jingle Cruise, but I think it was clearly agreed up the 2016 version was slowly plussed from a pretty poor first effort a few years prior.

Maybe seasonal overlays just need to be changed out of rotation with a bit more frequency? Jingle Cruise seems like it had a reasonable run, should go away for a while and if it does come back do so differently.

I think the holiday overlays do attract more people to the parks. Yes it's always crowded, but HM and IASW normally are minimal to no waits, but with the holiday versions suddenly you half to wait 2 hours for HM standby!?

And it's not just those two rides that see inflated wait times, the whole park seems more crowded and jam packed in the Halloween and Christmas seasons. I don't think there is a chance of those two overlays going away. IASW holiday has become way too iconic with the lights, etc.
