Trip Report No Bug Movie...promise! *COMPLETED*

It is with great excitement I sit here in the Atlanta airport, Disney bound with my middle child. While this is my 5th WDW trip this year (I *may* have an addiction problem...) my DS (henceforth known as Drumr) has not been to the world in 3 years...before MagicBands! Don't feel too sorry for him...his first trip was at age 2 and he has been numerous times since. (Warning to parents of young kids...be careful what traditions you start!)

The food this trip has been exceptional :hungry:. We haven't had a single bad meal.

I always say the first couple of Disney days seem to go at normal speed, but once the halfway point arrives the days just fly! Thankful we have 10 more hours before boarding the tragical express.

I have experienced way more rain at Disney than this past week. @TrolleyFollower91 and I survived Tropical Storm Andrea! So really this time it hasn't been too bad.

Thank you for all your kind comments.
Let's not forget the wildfires you've survived when it didn't rain. Oh, and the natural gas pipeline fire, the fire in the Epcot power substation, the termite swarm, the black fly invasion...

We arrived at Be Our Guest in time to watch the doors swing open, the cast come out and welcome us with a round of applause! :joyfull:

I have never dined in the West Wing so I decided that today is the day. Drumr did not believe me when I said the portrait changes from Prince to Beast...until he saw it for himself.

There was a screaming young child in the room and the family finally decided to choose another room to dine in...Drumr's comment: "Perhaps you shouldn't choose a dark and stormy room to have breakfast with a toddler"

When I met Drumr at the exit, we heard the official MK opening announcement. A few moments later, a wall of people rushed towards 7DMT. Drumr kept his pride in check and did not gloat that he had already ridden the attraction twice .

Space Mountain is near the top of Drumr's favorite rides list, so despite having FP later we wanted to also ride standby. Unfortunately, Space Mountain continues to have operational issues as it was not open.

So we ended up here:

Drumr was way more excited to ride the Speedway 20 years ago (before he had to sit in daily Atlanta traffic!)

After our victory lap, we walked back towards Space Mountain to check its status...still down

Drumr's suggestion: "Let's give Buzz a redemption try!"

We each chose our own vehicle to increase the odds of having a working gun. This score is 290,600...I'll let you guess whose it is.

I know what you're thinking. "Hey, those pictures are from Splash Mountain. Haven't Tuvalu and Drumr had enough of being wet???!!!"

Ah, but if you reach into your memory bank you may recall that Splash is Drumr's #1 favorite ride. And a mom always looks for ways to please her child...even if it means getting wet.

Fortunately, the man upstairs smiled on us and we merely got "splashed" (as the name implies) and not "soaked" (as what usually happens.)

After our round trip, we stayed on the train for the next stop in Fantasyland. We walked the less traveled path from the train station to Tomorrowland, and were happy to see guests entering and exiting Space Mountain! But the standby wait was already 40 minutes, so we decided to wait until our FP time to ride.
