I have to laugh at Menlo Park for Central Jersey...having worked in New Brunswick and Somerville...it still cracks me up that they consider that central Jersey (possibly anything below Bordentown and Cherry Hill isn't NJ... :lol: :lol:

The North Jersey meet info has been finalized. The date is Friday Sept 9th. The place is Sweet Maggie's Pub in the Rockaway Square Mall. The time is 7:30-10:30. All of the other meets havent decided on a firm place or date/time as of yet. Belle

Pineys are people South of Route 70, and East of an imaginary line that runs South from Medford to Vineland. The Eastern border is Route 9, and excludes Hammonton. Generally, if a Piney gives his home town as Wharton State Forest, he's a true Piney.

Why is it that noone north of Flemington knows what you're talking about?
I don't think the north even knows where Trenton is (not that I want to if I had a choice

In my book, Pineys are those that were born and have lived their whole lives in the Pine Barrens, which would start a mile or so just before Exit 77 on the GSP and Double Trouble State Park and stretch down to Great Egg Bay. These pineys are primitive people, sort of like the Amish and live off the land.
What I always found funny was when I was living at Stockton, people down there would refer to anything north of the Mullica River as North Jersey
. Depending on where you live in the state, determines what you consider north and south. I consider the Toms River the Mason Dixon Line of NJ, Basically when the GSP goes to 2 lanes. Toms River teeters on the border, go to Bayville or Berkeley Township and things are different.

I guess everyone's definition is different. I don't necessary think they 'live off the land,' but they tend to 'make due with what they have.' I think they consider themselves Pineys if they live in any of the area considered the "Pine Barrens."

well, lets not forget west new york new jersey, yes I said west new york new jersey, it is a real place, ( for those non nj people), and it is in nj. only on the right coast can you find this.

OK everyone I Am ressurecting this thread to remind everyone that the North NJ Meet for all us WDWMagic types is coming up very shortly. To avoid having to page back through the posts it is going to be held on Friday September 9th at Sweet Maggie's in the Rockaway Square Mall I will probably be getting there at the same time the entertainment is supposed to be starting which will be about 7:30 or so. The lead singer of the Soundbytes is a friend of mine and a Disney person in her own right. I Am going to look into if I can hang a banner or advise the seating staff as to our location so that way we can find each other without a problem! Ill let you all know more as I become aware of it!!! Belle
