Nintendo’s Zelda Slated to Replace Lost Continent at Islands of Adventure

I could actually see this working as a reskin of Posiden's Fury quite easily, that is basically a Zelda Dungeon to start with. Change the archaeologist to Link even and the voice of the God is Princess Zelda, the final room is a boss battle. Might be a little bit of a cheap- way to do it, but also would work well and could allow a bigger budget to be spent on an actual ride.

Zelda will be a ground up build. The only thing that could possibly stay would be Mythos. But I think it will go too.

That seems strange as I expect part of the reason for choosing that area could have been the re-use of some infrastructure. Hopefully it will be a 2-3 ride/attraction area

But when taking over Lost Continent it’s best everything goes. Poseidon’s Fury doesn’t really deserve to stay.

My only concern/hope is that equal care and attention is given to pokemon and zelda that is being done with Mario. These should all have state of the art etickets and lands so immersive you can get lost in! Universal truly got some of the most immersive franchises out there with this deal!

I think that was a straight-up decision to wait and see how Potter does. Let's reskin DD and in the future, we will redo the whole thing if Potter does well. Multiple reasons to do it that way.

I have no problem with Universal doing that and would have done it myself it was up to me. You also want to spread Potter out over time not give the people everything in one shot. Keeps the Potter fans coming back because there is something new every few years and later on bringing in not so Potter hardcore fans once you have many Potter rides. Universal is becoming the Potter park and not just for a couple of rides.

Also, you never know what the crowd will like the best. If you build everything at one time you better get it right, lots of money involved it makes for an all or nothing thing with no feedback.

I agree, I would have done the same thing they did too. Spreading the cost out over time was wise and I am also guessing they have an operations budget for refurbs that they get to leverage as well for this new ride. Considering that they did a refurb of Hulk recently, I am sure a Dueling Dragons had some money ear marked for a refurb of sorts to keep it fresh. Now that money can be used towards a new attraction that will pull more people in.
