Great report so far Nibbles! I love all the pictures. I didn't notice anything about the Peter Pan pic until someone pointed it out, and now - well, it's all I can see.

Visiting Ft. Wilderness and the MK

Today, we woke up and took a bus to the Magic Kingdom...but we weren't going inside just yet. Today, WHF had a plan. He had been on a bike ride at the Wilderness Lodge a few days before and had so much fun, that he had me (in a way, forced me) to go on a bike ride with me.

So, we walked to the Contemporary, and then took the boat to the Wilderness Lodge. We rented bikes right there and took the trail towards Ft. Wilderness.

In all, the bike ride wasn't so bad. It was kind of hot, but it wasn't the worst thing I've done. It's always nice to try the other side of Disney and for me, this was definitely a side I never thought I'd try. It was also fun screaming "LIZARD" everytime I saw one...which was frequently!!!

Once we got to the campgrounds, we veered over to the Tri-Circle D Ranch. This was a blast! I am not the biggest horse person, but I had so much fun talking with Colleen (who invites everyone to come out and visit her! She loves it when people come by!) about all the horses, what their jobs are, how she got into being a ranch hand...just tons of great information. It was one of the most unique half hours I've ever had on Disney property. Please, please go check this area out the next time you have time...you won't regret it!

After we spent some great time with Colleen, our time limit for our hour bike ride was almost up. So, we headed back to the WL, where we then turned in our bikes and took the boat back to the Contemporary. Since it was so hot, we decided to have a drink at the pool bar.

Then it was over to the Magic Kingdom.

First, we headed over to Tomorrowland. I was on a mission to get a decent picture of the work they were doing both in Space and on the Skyway station. I ended up getting a few shots.

Sorry for the graphicness of the previous photos... :lookaroun

After that, we headed to one of my favorites, the COP, which had a line!!! Then we did Monster's Inc (which has a new skit to it, which I thought was very funny). We also did Buzz, in which I stink at. WHF actually stopped playing and tried to help and I still lost badly!!!

From there, we headed over to Liberty Square to go on the HM. We also caught the HOP for the first time since the refurb. I REALLY like this new refurb. I think they did an outstanding job with it. It is very facinating and I do like how it actually focuses on more than just Lincoln now. If you haven't done so, make sure to check it out on your next trip!

Then, it was time for our meal of the evening...(wait...I have to eat again?!) Tonight's menu was Liberty Tree Tavern...which I still like, despite the fact that they took away the characters.

Once we were stuffed beyond belief, we rode IASW and SWSA, since we hadn't gotten those in yet and then went and did the double mountains in Frontierland. Our last ride of the night was the Jungle Cruise...which if you know me, was more junglier than ever since it was at night!

We caught the tail end of the fireworks in Adventureland, right near Aladdin's Magic Carpets...not the best place to catch them, by the way.

After that, it was still kind of early, so WHF and I decided to chill in Adventureland for a while and then decided to make our way over to the Contemporary again to sit on some hammocks. While sitting there, we accidentally caught the Electrical Water Pagent...which I think is so hokey, but so much fun too! I love that they do this!

Random MK pic I loved:

After an hour or so went by, we walked (speed walked) back to the MK to catch a bus for Pop and then headed back home. We sat by the pool on our way back to the room and just relaxed before heading to bed.

Those hamocks on the beach of the Poly really are nice, aren't they? We're also jealous that you got a shot with King Louie AND Baloo. Nice nice shots and shot of the water pageant.

Look forward to seeing/reading the rest!

Blizzard Beach, Yachtsman, & Epcot

Sorry for the delay, but life has been CRAZY! Anyway, back to the fun!

Today, we went to Blizzard Beach. It had been a LONG time since we'd been...2005, the day of our Engagement...so it was time to go back. And we're glad we did. We had a BLAST!!! This has definitely taken the place as my favorite water park at WDW.

We found a great place to put our stuff. (although we kept loosing our spot everytime we tried to find it and there was this BIG spider the size of an egg, at least, hanging from the rafters, which we didn't know about until after we'd been there a while.)

So, we did all the rides at Blizzard Beach but found that some of our favorites were the Toboggin Racers, Downhill Double Dipper, and for me, this time, Slush Gusher. (Last time, this attraction scared me as it was a lot steeper than I thought and I didn't enjoy going down it...this time, I don't know if it was because I kind of knew what to expect or what, but it was WAY more enjoyable this time.) We ate lunch at Lottawatta and WHF saved Summit Plummet for his last ride in the park.

We left around 3, because we had somewhere to be...Yachtsman at 5. And we were excited! We'd never been there and this was the meal we'd been looking forward to all trip. I'd heard such great things about it and since we were eating for free on the dining plan, I thought, why not?

We went back to the hotel, got changed and then headed to Epcot to head to Yachtsman. Once we figured out where Yachtsman was in the Yacht Club (Since we'd never seen it before) we waited for a few minutes for our table. Just seeing the meat was cool...and it looked SO good!!!!

9732_1185360567305_1626994901_537511_5854530_n.jpg

We got seated at our table and they were actually filming a little spot for something in the room right next to us. I kept peering through the open area to see what they were doing.

So, the meal at Yachtsman...OMG...it was so great. WHF and I were so stuffed when we left. I had the 24 oz Porterhouse (hey...I'm on vacay and I didn't pay for the meal...I'm eating good!!!) which was AMAZING!!!! Loved the sauce that was on top...and while I didn't eat the whole thing...I did eat about 65% of it. (Although WHF claims it was less...but I know it wasn't!)

9732_1185360687308_1626994901_537514_7331989_n.jpg

Then I had the creme brulee for dessert since I'm a sucker for creme brulee now apparently. It was quite good.

9732_1185360727309_1626994901_537515_3548836_n.jpg

I also got WHF's dessert, since he didn't eat dessert at this time in the trip yet...and I thought the creme brulee was better AND I was surprised of the cost of this dessert...like $13 for 3 little desserts...so not worth the money, IMO.

9732_1185360767310_1626994901_537516_7644984_n.jpg

After we were stuffed to oblivion and didn't want to move...we made our way (slowly) into Epcot. We got a FP for Soarin that we ran out of time to use and then we hit up the Seas.

I also got a call from my friend Vince (Merhearted) telling us that he was on his way to Epcot, so we met him in front of Test Track. Which we then rode. Then we decided to hit up SSE...which Vince so kindly made us hear in German...since he pushed our button before we could do it...which was interesting...(jerk...)

After that, we caught Illuminations and said good bye to Vince. We went our seperate ways to the Boardwalk, where we caught a great street performer!

9732_1185360967315_1626994901_537521_2199835_n.jpg

We then left the Boardwalk because I had forgotten my ID and we couldn't get into any of the clubs over there. (Ironically, I realized I'd had my ID with me the whole time...:brick:)

So, we took the incredibly long way around to get to DTD. Here's a tip...when trying to get to DTD...don't pick the Swan as the resort to board the bus at. It was a LONG trip!!!

Once we got to DTD, we waited for a Pop bus to come get us...and walked very tiredly to our room.

Up next: A Couples Massage, the MK, and Kona

 Love that porterhouse!! Maybe one day we'll hit that.. but for now I'm keeping the Yachtsman a secret from DH!

Did you take pics of the massage? :lookaroun

And I'm confused.. why did you go to DTD just to wait for a Pop bus? Did I miss something? :veryconfu

Yeah..keep it from Marc...he will LOVE it!

I did take some pictures at the spa...not during the massage though...

Had to go there because by the time we left the Boardwalk it was either that or walk all the way back through Epcot and hope there were still busses, which we weren't sure if there would still be. Boardwalk doesn't go straight to the other resorts, although I wish it did...would make life so much easier.

Great trip report! and Wow! that porterhouse is HUGE! We are planning to eat there when we go in December.

It was HUGE!!! And you will love it. It's a great meal!!! I could go for that steak again right now...I've finally regained my appetite...:lookaroun

Wed. Sep. 16
Massage, MK, and Kona

Today was the day I'd been looking forward to the whole trip.

Ah, but alas, the backstory...

It seems every year for my birthday, WHF gets me extravagant presents. A few years ago, it was an mp3 player, last year is was my AP, and well, this year, he surprised me yet again. He decided to call down to WDW and arrange for us to partake in a Couples Massage...but I would find out, that this wasn't just any Couple's Massage...this was an Instructional Couples Massage. (Get your mind out of the gutter!!!!)

This is no ordinary massage...this massage is a quite pricey, 3 hour massage where they teach you how to massage each other (you each get massaged by the other one for 1 and a half hours each). I couldn't believe he did this! But on the day of the massage...I realized how much it was worth every penny.

So, we took the bus to the MK and then took the boat to the GF (since that's where he choose to have the massage take place.) It is quite a far walk to the spa from the Grand Floridian main area. And of course, it was brutally hot that day...and we were running late...so...it literally is about halfway between the Grand Floridian and the Poly. I think, if I remember right, it's right near the Wedding Pavilion.

So, we get inside and they take us both to our seperate locker rooms. We each get changed and the massage therapist comes and gets both of us. She allows us to pick the kind of oil we want to use (and which we will get to take home a bottle of as well) and then we went into a massage room.

I got to go first, so I laid down while the massage therapist taught WHF the right techniques for giving a proper massage. (There are essentially 4 that are most commonly used.) This is a full body massage too...not just a back massage and you're done. They really go through everything.

Then, after I was blissful and relaxed and happy, it was my turn (wait...I have to wake up now and massage him...dang it...) and I got to learn the techniques that should be used. We had a GREAT massage therapist in Monica...I so highly suggest that you ask for her if you ever go to the spa to get a massage.

After our massage, we each spent a little time in the hot tub that was in each locker room area.

Here are some pics of the "locker room" area: (Yes, I was the only one in there...)

The hot tub:

9732_1185361087318_1626994901_537524_5572590_n.jpg

After we were done, we were given our gift bag which contained a candle, massage oil, and a booklet to take home to remind us of the steps we learned.

So, was it worth the money...at first I thought no...after I had the massage done though, I think it was worth every penny of the $300 the massage cost. Now don't get me wrong...$300 is a LOT of money and not something I just throw around easily. But I feel that we got so much out of the cost of this massage. First of all, we each got a hour and a half full body massage, we also recieve the body oil and candle and next, and most important to why I could justify the cost was we got the knowledge of how to actually give a proper massage. (Oh and it being my birthday present didn't hurt either.) I would definitely suggest this massage the next time you take a nice romantic couples trip or you want to get away from the kids for a few hours. It was phenominal and I am so glad we did it! (Hmm...maybe I should ask for a massage tonight...:) )

So, after our massage, we walked over to the Poly. We were both starving and needed something good to eat. So, we went to Captain Cook's...where I had THE BEST sandwich I have ever eaten in my entire life...I am litterally counting down the days until I can eat this meal again. It was the Adult Grilled Cheese and Poly chips. 3 kinds of amazing cheese were on this sandwich, Swiss, Cheddar, and Boursin cheeses, plus lettuce and tomato. I was really leery about getting this sandwich at first...but OH MY GOD...was it amazing!!! And the Poly chips...I LOVED them as well!!! Seriously...first time I get the chance when I got down in January...this is where I'm stopping. Run...do not walk, to Captain Cook's and get this sandwich!!! It is so NOT theme park food!!!

9732_1185361247322_1626994901_537527_2591562_n.jpg

So, after my amazing lunch...we headed over to the MK. Now let me preface this by saying, we knew we would have to take it easy today. We had had a lot of toxins and stuff released from our bodies with the massage and we knew that we needed a relaxed pace. What we didn't realize was how absolutely WASTED our bodies would feel after this massage and that in hindsight, going to the MK that day (which as I had mentioned, was a brutally hot day...the first really brutally hot day we'd had) was a poor decision.

We got to the MK and WHF got his first ever haircut on Main Street! He really liked it a lot actually.

From there, we went and did some things we'd never done before, in an attempt to take it easy. First, we hit up the Swiss Family Treehouse...which I can see the diversion in it, but since we were literally WASTED and it was so hot...not a great choice. Next we did Aladin's Magic Carpets for the first time as well. Then we hit up Pirates again...FPed Big Thunder, rode Splash and then, we couldn't walk any more. We were exhausted. We decided to take the train, as it would allow us to sit and rest. We got off at the MK station and walked to take the trek along the TTA and relax some more.

9732_1185362007341_1626994901_537546_6397003_n.jpg

We then went to another air conditioned ride in Philharmagic, hit up the Haunted Mansion again and then we needed to sit again along the pathway from Liberty Square to Fronterland.

WHF taking pics of me on the phone talking to my mom:

9732_1185362047342_1626994901_537547_4571252_n.jpg

We also tried to avoid this HUGE bird who looked ticked off. Once we'd relaxed a bit, we decided we were done. And I don't just mean done for the night. I meant we were offically done with the MK. We had accomplished everything we had wanted to do and then some by this point in our trip. I had planned to come back to the MK the next night, but at that moment, I knew there was no reason to. We had had our fill of the MK for this trip. (Who'da ever thunk I'd say that?!) So, we hit up BTMR with our FPes and then left.

One last look at the MK:

We headed back to the Poly where we had our dining ressie tonight at Kona. I'd heard such wonderful things about this restaurant and I was not disappointed. The meal here was absolutely fabulous! I got the terayaki steak and WHF got the sushi.

Steak (and if you're counting, that makes 2 days in a row of steak for me):

This dessert was FABULOUS...but oh so rich...I couldn't even eat it all...and that's saying a lot for a chocolate lover like me. The Kilaeau Torte:

From there, we went and hung out on the beach at the Poly again...I really fell in love with the Poly this trip.

Once again, we took the bus back to DTD, but this time, we didn't have to get off the bus as we had a bus driver whom I believe was new and didn't kick us off the bus when we reached the Pop Century bus stop (which was where she was headed from DTD.) We also got the opportunity to talk to this great family who had this little 5 year old girl...she was just so sweet and it was a great way to end a great day!

Up next: Epcot, meeting with a listener, and Whispering Canyon

The massage sounds so nice! That is something I would love to try sometime, but I think I would have to make my fiance go first because I would be in no mood to give a massage after getting one!
