It was a bad refereed game and the Steelers deserved to win. This coming from a Colts fan.

Da Bears. Ditka...e4ymod said::wave: Bears
SpongeScott said:If Pittsburgh wins, this contest will effectively have shut itself down.
perhaps after next week we can have a Super Bowl contest and wipe the slate clean.Wilt Dasney said:Right you are, basically. The Colts and Bears both losing took a lot of people's entries down the toilet. Anyways, here are the official standings.
Standings after the Divisional games:
1. Iakona (6.5)
2. Wilt Dasney (5.5)
3. HauntedPirate (4)
3. SpongeScott (4)
5. dxwwf3 (3.5)
6. Number_6 (2.5)
7. bsandersjr (1.5)
8. MKCP 1985 (1)
The only people still alive for advancement are Scott and HauntedPirate. If the Seahawks win next weekend, they'll both tie for first place, regardless of the Super Bowl outcome. If the Panthers win, Iakona will finish first.
Sounds good to me. Maybe have everybody pick winner and final score...any other suggestions?SpongeScott said:perhaps after next week we can have a Super Bowl contest and wipe the slate clean.
Great defined: a kick in the (stomach). Yes, it would be great! :lol:Wilt Dasney said:After watching Cowher and Bettis plug away and come up short so many times, it would be great to see them finally break through.
You sound like a longtime Jaguars fan who still considers them a divisional rival. :lol:MKCP 1985 said:Great defined: a kick in the (stomach). Yes, it would be great!
I am so guilty of that. The avatar gave me away? :lol:Wilt Dasney said:You sound like a longtime Jaguars fan who still considers them a divisional rival.

Also...this should go without saying, but the Super Bowl contest is open to anyone, not just people who participated in the first contest.Wilt Dasney said:Alright, here are the final standings for the original competition. The Seahawks' win today means that Scott and HP tie as the least bad prognosticaters among us.No one had Seattle or Pittsburgh winning the Super Bowl, so these standings are final:
1. HauntedPirate (7.5)
1. SpongeScott (7.5)
3. Iakona (6.5)
4. Wilt Dasney (5.5)
5. dxwwf3 (3.5)
6. Number_6 (2.5)
7. bsandersjr (1.5)
8. MKCP 1985 (1)
And...since the first competition is over, I like the idea of a new one for the Super Bowl. Here's what I propose: Everybody picks the winner of the game AND the cumulative final score (total number of points scored by both teams).
The rub is that any single combination of winner and points can only be entered ONCE, so getting in early pays. For example, if I think Pittsburgh wins 6-3, then I could enter Steelers + 9 ONLY if no one else has entered that combination. If that combination is taken, I might say Pittsburgh wins 7-3, and enter Steelers + 10 instead. The person who picks the winner and comes closest to picking the total score WITHOUT GOING OVER will be the winner.
I'll try to keep an eye on entries and let anyone know if they've duplicated a previous pick. Also, since earlier entries can affect later ones, I'm asking that there be no editing of picks at any time. Once you enter it, stick with it.
My pick: Steelers + 41
I do believe that the AFC overall is a stronger conference right now, but Seattle ain't getting any respect. That is a stunning line right now.Wilt Dasney said:What does it say about the competitive gulf between the two conferences that the early line has the AFC's #6 seed over the NFC's #1 seed by 3 1/2?
If the 1 beats the 6, it will probably be considered a minor upset. Found that interesting...
