Well, Calvin Johnson broke Jerry Rice's receiving yards record last night against the Falcons. It's about the only thing the Lions have done well this year.

So? Who grabs the last 2 NFC seeds? NFC East and final Wildcard?

I see the Redskins winning the NFC, but I think it will be a close game. Cowboys definitely have a shot.
I see the Bears winning the 6th seed. I think the Packers will beat the Vikings and the Bears will beat the Lions. I'm also surprised that the Giants are this far out of the playoffs.

I think for the Giants to make it, Washington would need to beat Dallas, Chicago and Minn would also have to lose. I guess the Bears could lose to Detroit, and expect Minn and Dallas to lose.

I think the Lions have a shot, but it depends what Chicago is like. If they are the sucky offense with an average defense, they can win. If they are a top-notch defense and still a sucky offense, the Lions can't win.

Don't get the Lions or Carolina this year! How did they suck as bad as they did this year? Could add the Jets and Chargers to that discussion.

Watchout for Seattle......best team in the NFL right now. Chigago?....LMAO....cutler the only QB who could get a concussion just throwing footballs thru a tire at practice. Bears=nowhere. Denver is the most lethal team in the AFC. Manning is.....well being Manning. I have not been the biggest Payton Manning fan in the world, but you have to give this guy all the credit. Cant remember another QB who makes so many players around him that much better. Yesssssss even better then Brady. My Ravens  was the Giants that bad or was the unprecedented firing of Cam Cameron was what the doctor ordered for the struggleing Baltimore Ravens? They will have a first round home game and are always super tough at home. Where we thought just two weks ago they were a "one and done" might not be so certian.

Patriots? Well to me as long as "hoody" is coaching the team they will always be a contender, but just like the Texans they have shown some vulnerablility lately. Honestly...comming oput of the AFC I see the texans in their first Super bowl. Out of the NFC? I like my sleeper pick Seattle. There isnt many defenses playing better then the Seahawks. 49's. I would have loved to have seen them go past the NFC championship round...I just dont see the rookie QB with a handful of games under his belt stand up to the pressure of a Super Bowl run. Packers? mmmmm maybe. Just cant put a finger on it but something isnt right there. But that would be my first choice. Redskins? What a great story, I believe again I am not sure a rookie QB can do it. Give this team a year or two...thats is the owner dosnt do anything stupid. Cowboys? ummmm no...period.

I would love to see two teams that have never been in the Super Bowl....like Seattle and Texas. Thing is the NFL would hate it. No big market teams. Well this is what they have strived for.....parody...right? well here you go.

Not to be a smarty pants, but Colin Kaepernick is a 2nd year player, but I understand what you mean. Also Seattle has been to the Super Bowl before, they lost to the Steelers back in I believe 2004 or 2005. Sorry, just kind of bugged me. Don't know why.

For AFC I see the Broncos going to the Super Bowl. In the NFC I can see Seattle being dangerous, but they are much better at home, and they might not win their division, which means road games. The Packers are the hottest team right now. They seem to be getting their running game going (4 rushing TDs last week.) Their passing game is always a huge threat. Randall Cobb is one of the biggest return specialists in the game.

I could see why it might bug you....No apology is needed, but for the life of me I cant remember that piticular game. Who QBed for the Seahawks?....anyway. I do agree with you on the Packers. That is my first choice for the the NFC. Being in an AFC town on the eastcoast....other then a national game I rarely get to see them. Cobb is a gamechanger....problem is if he is returning kicks....means the other team scored.I am sure the NFl would much rather see a storied francise like GB then Seattle. Colin Kapernick?....had no idea....Still cant remember the name of the QB in Miami:( I am terrible with names. I coached football for 17 yrs and couldnt remember the names of my own players till it was halfway thru the season.

Matt Hasselbeck was the QB for the Seahawks that year. His name has kind of been forgotten around the NFL recently though. Also, Cobb is dangerous at both kick and punt returning, so the other team doesn't have to necessarily score. And in Miami it's Ryan Tannehill if that's who you're thinking of. I know a lot of names from being a huge NFL junkie. :p

Seattle sleeper? Is anyone sleeping on Seattle? Many are picking them to go to the Super Bowl. I don't see it, but think they are better than San Fran.

Houston is the 10th biggest TV market in the U.S. and only Chic (3rd), Dallas (5th), San Fran (6th), Boston (7th), Atlanta (8th), and Washington (9th) are larger markets (of teams in or on the bubble for the playoffs).

My NFC seeding HOPES for the playoffs (hopes giving the Falcons the easiest path):

1) Atl - clinched
2) Green Bay - Green Bay beats Minn
3) Seattle - Seattle beats Stl, SF losses to Arizona
4) Dallas
5) San Fran - see #3
6) Chicago - Chic beats Detroit, GB beats Minn

That would keep Atlanta from playing Green Bay or Seattle until the NFC Championship (Green Bay could lose and Sea would flip flop with them, still meaning Atl would avoid until the NFC Championship). I'm not real concerned with Seattle, but given a choice would rather play San Fran (or Dallas or Chic).

My seeding picks (above are my hopes not my actuals):
1) Atl - can't mess this one up
2) Green Bay - Beats Minn
3) San Fran
4) Washington - in a blowout today
5) Seattle - What a first round game that would be @ Washington
6) Chicago, maybe NYG - Do you realize if Chicago loses,Green Bay beats Minn, Washington beats Dallas, the Giants are in if they beat Philly?

I see a Super Bowl of Green Bay and New England. Also cringe at the thought of another 1 and done down here!

I am not so sure that there are that many people picking them to go to the Super Bowl....I said it was MY sleeper pick. Lets face it outside of their home dome they are vulnerable. They are a much differnt team on the road. The path to the Super Bowl will be on the road for them at some point. Although they have played very well they are still a somewhat young team, a playoff run always favor a more veteran team. GB vs NE for the Super Bowl? I can see that. But like in so many years past the super bowl may really be played in the conference championships. Denver vs New England could be one for the history books.

SF loses to ARI? ARI has nothing to play for. They have packed it in. No way this will happen....sure you can hope, but no way it will happen.

Heard that...unless they win the division, Seattle will be on the road. I still see Denver (with Atlanta) as another possible 1 and done...hope I'm wrong on both counts.

hmmmmmm maybe I can see it with Atlanta but Denver? Not so sure. Atlanta is an excellent team, it would seem this would be their year. I gues until they dont go one and out....no one believes they can. Honestly I am not so sure they can either. But having a 1 seed should help. Chigago? I have never liked Cutler from day one in the NFL. I always thought he was a bum and still do. There is a good news bad news thing for Atlanta, the good news is they will have a first round bye....the bad news is they have a first round bye and will have to play a real contender to make it to the NFC championship.

Seattle is much more dangerous at home, IMO. That is the toughest place to play in the NFL right now. Tougher than Atlanta, New England, Green Bay, anyone. I believe they can win one and then they could be in trouble. Not that they are a bad team, but they aren't nearly as good on the road.

Denver is my pick right now for the AFC Super Bowl team. The Patriots and them will play in the championship game, and it will be a close one, but Denver is a more complete team, IMO. Brady is great along with Manning, but Manning has a more complete defense and more complete team around him.

It'll be a close and exciting playoff race no matter what.

We'll it's a bittersweet feeling for me as a Packers fan. We lost, but we kept the Bears out of the playoffs, and kept Peterson from the record. Now I just hope we can win next week against Minnesota. It'll be at Lambeau which will be a much different environment. Also, Crosby was consistent today. That makes me very happy. :D
