Steelers are also a possibility, and as hard as it is to believe, the Jets are creeping up...

Sorry if I upset any Jets fans... if there are any... but I just don't see the Jets in the post-season. Shocking, I know.

I look at this weekend's game against the Giants as a playoff game....while a loss will not send us home, a loss WILL pretty much say another one and done post season....been making this same plea for quite some time now! Prove me wrong home team! Prove me wrong! I sooooo want to eat crow...woud love some!!!

I'd sure be happy if that were the case. Packers fans can't be very confident against the Giants anymore. Especially in the playoffs.

I see You and I with a first round bye...don't see Frisco beating New England...that will give us (assuming we win at least one of our last three) at least the #2 seed

I can see the Falcons losing all of their next three games. I think they'll win one against the Lions or Buccaneers, however. If they do drop all three they will be 11-5. Assuming the Packers win at least two of the final three, they'll be 11-5 also. Say the Giants win all three, they'll be 11-5 as well. If the 49ers drop two more (NE, SEA) they would be 10-5-1. If Seattle could beat SF, I think they'd win their other two games (BUF, ARI) and their record would end up being 11-5 as well. If Chicago wins two of their next 3 (ARI, DET), they'd be 10-6.

So, the records would end up being:

Falcons: 11-5
Packers: 11-5
Giants: 11-5
49ers: 10-5-1
Seahawks: 11-5
Bears: 10-6

While all of this is not likely to happen, here is where the seeds would stand:

1st: Giants
2nd: Falcons/Packers
3rd: Falcons/Packers
4th: Seahawks:
5th: 49ers
6th: Bears

This isn't even factoring in the teams still hunting for a playoff spot.

I tried to do all of this hoping it would make sense, but it looks just like a jumbled up mess. Sorry.

Packers would be #2 with a better conference record than the Falcons....Falcons actually made a "mistake" going 4-0 against the AFC West...would have been nice for one of our two losses (N.O., Carolina) to be outside the NFC (as far as for tie-breakers)

And who do you have the Pack losing too? If not the Bears? Who could also be 11-5 if they are the ones that beat the Pack!?

I lied about that post now that I think about it. The seeds would go like this:

1- Giants
2- Seahawks
3- Packers
4- Falcons
5- 49ers
6- Bears

Seahawks have the tie breaker thanks to the Fail Mary, but I don't know if they'd have the tie breaker over the Falcons... how would that work if the Falcons had the tie breaker over the Seahawks and the Packers had the tie breaker over the Falcons while the Seahawks have the tie breaker over the Packers?? I confuse myself sometimes....

Believe it or not, the head to head would be dropped if all three had not played each other. The next tiebreaker would be conference record, which would eliminate Atl. Then The Pack and Seattle would go back to head to head, and....you know the rest! What you have above would be correct...San Fran and the Bears are the only two teams I think we have a chance against...

I saw the playoff seeding rules once and had to laugh at the final decision maker: coin toss.

Packers clinch the NFC North!!!

To Bears fans regarding that one no call:
Yes, it should have been a penalty. No, it does not mean you were going to win. Even if they would've scored a touchdown a two point conversion would've had to be successfully made. You had plenty of chances to score points, but the Bears' offense today was simply lackluster. No matter what, they did not deserve to win.

Things I learned in the early games this week:

- Atlanta looked good
- The Giants looked horrendous
- Baltimore will be a one-and-done playoff team
- Green Bay needs to finally cut Crosby and sign a new kicker (Ryan Longwell or Nate Kaeding??)
- Chicago can't do much without getting turnovers and are on the outside looking in from the playoff race
- Washington doesn't need RGII to win
- Houston is not awful
- Miami played well against a terrible team
- Tampa Bay will not be attending the post season
- New Orleans is still out of the playoff picture despite their great victory
- Minnesota has a playoff chance

Can't believe how much the playoff race has tightened up. Didn't expect a lot of these teams to still be in the race right now.

And if there's one time I want the Patriots to win, it's tonight. I thought they were out of it, but the 49ers have looked iffy in the later parts of this game. Maybe the pressure is getting to the young QB of San Fran??

Ouch! I'm still wallowing. :(

Actually the Bears looked great today in comparison to other games we played in the second half of the season. And yeah, it should have been a penalty but every team has endured stuff like this. Nobody was cheated more than Greenbay at the beginning of the season with the make shift refs.

My dear Bears started out so well and one by one they had their little bodies mangled and our QB might have been cleared to play but he still looks dizzy, get the idea he still isn't right in the head. Our fault for not acknowledging years ago that our offensive line was getting Grampa-ish.

Go Cubs! :D Go Illini!

The Pats just took a huge step backwards. Their defense and special teams was abysmal tonight. Not saying this ended the season for them, but they just made their lives much harder. Most likely lost the 1st round bye, and will have to go through both Denver and Houston. I don't think so.

Atlanta VS. Denver in the Super Bowl.
