Just remember, WDW isn't for everyone, its for the soccer moms.
"Oh, isn't that cute? Hunter put down his Nintendo DS for a few seconds to touch this bronze plaque."
Yep:animwink:

"Isn't it so cute I love watching my kids banging their hands against bronze plaque which makes noise just like something you can find at your local McDonald's during your vacation that you spent hundreds of dollars on, Yeah, every parents dream.
No, because I've never really focused on it. Particularly when either it's busy or when the queue flows right into the mansion itself.
And let's face it, some random sounds from a queue that can be bypassed aren't enough to make or break anyone's vacation.

Good for you, for the rest of us, It spoils the ominous atmosphere that used to perfectly set up the Mansion,

What McDonald's do you go to? I know most of them in my hometown in Texas and all the ones here in the New York City area and surrounding suburbs don't even have play places any more.
I personally would rather see kids playing and having fun than crying and cranky because they don't have anything to occupy their minds. Children (and adults) don't need to have short attention spans to get antsy during a 30 plus minute wait.

I think it comes down to whether or not you want a passive of participatory experience when in the parks. Personally, I want a passive experience. I don't want to get involved. Entertainment should come to me when I'm there. They should have bands playing music, dancer dancing, actors acting. I don't need a toy to spin because I waved my hand or whatever. That isn't impressive to me at all.
Then there are the people of the now generation who need reassurance that they still exist in a media-saturated world, and so, need everything to be personalized and co-dependent.
TDO is making these changes to reflect the direction the culture is going and has gone. They leave people like me behind, a guy who doesn't like where all this is going, but it doesn't matter, because there are a hundred people behind me who will easily replace my status on a sheet of empirical, demographic data.

Yet, DLR, TDR, DLP, UO, and SW are still able to breathe oxygen and operate WITHOUT any of this type of tripe. I feel for you, as I feel and (others) have been left behind as well. It's why i have major DLR withdrawl, becuase DL is now representing the Disney I grew up with. Fact is everyone who defends this dosen't see that ONLY The Swamp is doing this and NOONE else in ANY other theme park company. PERIOD.
Actually, the HM graveyard does spoil the ride somewhat...
Then buy them a toy instrument so they can make noises all they want and stay at home, most of us go to WDW to have an experience you can't find elsewhere. Kids do not have to be playing with something every second of every day.
I get the impression you feel you are entitled to have a WDW experience exactly the way you want it. If you are not happy with the direction WDW is headed I urge you to achieve a position of authority or responsibility within the organization that allows you the decision making power to mold it to your whim.

Exactly. If they can't be happy with a HUGE Dutch Colonial Mansion staring them the face, a graveyard, a wolf howl and thinking "What's in there?" " I wonder how scary it is in there?" "How close is that wolf?" etc etc., then they have no business being at a Disney park. These parks were made for your imagination to be used. Not to be spoonfed every single story and theming point because Apple has brainwashed you.
