New Titles and Positions Announced including Jim MacPhee

Sorry to say... but sometimes I doubt the intelligence of some forum members...

About 2 years ago I warned everyone, this was bound to happen...

Then I was called crazy, stupid and ignorant...

And look what is happening ...

Again... Slowly, but surely the name PIXAR is moving in... there's only ONE man responsible for this...
And the name is Steve Jobs...

Not his leading puppets, (names: Iger and Lasseter)

This "little" trio will bring The Walt Disney Company to distruction...
I'll bite: how and why? Why is Pixar responisible for all this?

Not being rude and challenging you, but I really do want to know.:)
EDIT: WDW is going to receive a large investment; Jedimaster isn't lying or being naive. The timing, however, is up in the air. I think many people are upset because they were hoping for new leadership altogether.

:D

While I agree on the whole premise that this is a bad move, I don't understand why you are being negative about this. Most of our other "people in the know" are brushing it off as merely a slight organization for greater ease in running the resort. While the EPCOT Change DOES worry me, what power does the VP have? Why are you worried about this, 74?

Because any move that strengthens the power of those in control now isn't good for fans, guests, cast or shareholders long term.

That's what all of this does. It gives Jay Rasulo a vice grip on all the US parks with people who all owe most or all of their careers to the man.

VPs in the parks, while not ones who make large decisions (like say closing Space Mountain and replacing it with a plush/pin stand), have considerable power over day to day operations and can effect everything from cleanliness to park hours to entertainment to any number of things. They also can fight for attractions to be added (like Brad Rex did with Soarin) or push for things to not happen (like pretty much anything during Phil Holmes tenure at MK).

Dan Cockerell is a young guy who isn't going to be looking to make waves. And he is replacing Jim MacPhee, who is old guard Disney in every way. Dan, on the other hand, is very much like his father's type of Disney exec ... and that only leads to much lower caliber experience for all.

So, no, this isn't good.

But it is, largely, just more of the same.

Maybe it's just me. But I wish the Company would remove the "Walt" from Walt Disney World.

The parks in their current state are disrespectful to Walt Disney and Roy's vision of making sure people never forget it was his brother's dream.

"Disney Parks" was not his brother's dream. Eliminate the "Walt" from the name and keep the name "Walt Disney" sacred.

I'm always present at the shareholders meeting... And I always vote

I certainly did NOT pick this board... I didn't have any say in this...
Steve Jobs picked the board...

With the amount of shares he has... there's nothing left to say...

And we all (except Marty, I and some others of the creative group) were "so very happy" with the new CEO...

DUMBOS...

And now everyone is whining about the coming changes... :lookaroun
So you would rather see Eisner back in power? Marty Sklar lied to the Disney Online Community last year so I don't trust him anymore and why is Steve Jobs so bad?

I'm sure you know nothing of what anyone here has accused you of being, eh? Once I'm back in Orlando, I think it will finally be time to fill the mods in on your true identity. I've verified it with others, and frankly, its been too long seeing you here under another guise.

If I am wrong, I will gladly admit to it, but I honestly doubt that it will happen with the current [positive] direction the company is heading in in terms of park developments.

Sure you will...

Wow...just wow. So you once again ignored Tirians criticism, WDW1974s criticism, and Corrus/Tim Gs criticism and hone in on me. On top of that your threatning me? Any mod on this forum will tell you im not thrawn and there is no basis for banning me anyway Im just here to discuss things. Stop putting the focus on me and answer the hard questions that many others have brought up in this thread.

Odd how you only deny being Thrawn...
If you are one of the others, and were ever banned...yeah, that's gonna be a problem.

I'm just sayin'...

That they were not going to add an America scene to It's a Small World.
Did he? I missed that.
(Not getting into that whole IaSW issue again, that's for sure.)

That they were not going to add an America scene to It's a Small World. Also lest we forget Rasulo is an Eisner remnant.

Well you can go back before that when Sklar said that Submarine Voyage would not shut down without a new attraction replacing it immediatly. That never happened and the sub lagoon sat empty for ten years.

That wasn't up to Sklar. Or anyone else at WDI for that matter.

I'll bite: how and why? Why is Pixar responisible for all this?

Please read...I didn't say Pixar is resposible for this...
Well not directly...

I'll take you back a couple of years for a little pop quiz...

The "Oust Eisner" year...

Who started this... ???

Yep! Right...Gramps...

And who stood in the back in the dark???

Again... Right!!! Steve Jobs, who was very accidentally also Major Shareholder of Pixar...

This same person moved an innocent puppet into the most important position of one of the biggest multimedia business in the world.
Doing it like this he alway will be covered, but pulls the strings wich are attached to the CEO...

So... in the end who's really in charge...
Who really wants to be the Boss...
Who really always resented Disney as hell...
Right... Tha apple Guy... (oh sorry the Pixar Guy)
The Pixar shares he already had added to the Disney shares he simply bought... makes him the biggest shareholder ever inside the WDC...
Which is very dangerous...

It's very important for SJ to have the name Pixar on top...
Not beside the name Disney but instead of the name Disney....

Just look what happened in the last 3 years...
We ordered to stop rebuilding Tomorrowland...
Instead of this...disney rides were being closed and replaced by Pixar rides...
They could easily be done because like the general public said Pixar IS Disney... what did they know...

Rebuilding MGM... first get rid of MGM... as the contract with MGM was long overdue they could... (and really... It was not MGM who wanted this)

Insert PIXAR...
DAK... remove some (as they called it "stupid and old") attractions and replace them by PIXAR things...

Should I go on...
Lasseter came in control (puppet number 2) again with Jobs at the controls...

EVERYONE who disliked their ideas were asked to leave, or were send with an early retirement...
The ones who didn't leave??? they made it absolutely impossible to work with...

Marty left... with the excuse of spending more quality time with his family...

After this the rest left like tame horses...

What's left... Nothing's left... Creative is in chaos, in fact the whole WDI dept. is deep trouble...
E:E was the last genuine ride build by WDI... the rest will be basicly off the shelf, or bought by external engineers...
Not being rude and challenging you, but I really do want to know.:)
No problem, you're not... :D

I don't know' John Lasseter has done some very good work and if Steve Jobs wants to tear away the remnants of Eisner's Disney. I say go for it.

You shouldn't talk about things beyond your knowledge...

Don't forget, Michael Eisner made the Walt Disney Company bigger as it never was before...

Iger and Lasseter with Jobs at the controls are tearing the company apart...
And there's no way and no one to stop them...

Yes but Lasseter is a Creative type like Walt and Eisner stifled creativity and let the suits run everything.

Excuse my following words...

You're ignorant... very ignorant...

You're only looking at WDW... but luckily the WDC is so much more than WDW...
Lasseter didn't do a thing... he merely finished some work of some brilliant people who were laid off... He just went took the glory...
That's the so called great work he did...

Can you explain' please? Rasulo and most of the bad things that have happened over the past few years are leftovers from Eisner era ideas. Also if Roy Disney thought Jobs was trying to take over Disney why would he re-join the company?

I hope you're wrong, but fear you are utterly, totally, and fully correct.
