That's just the plots they're eyeing as easy candidates and the first to develop if they need to, right?

Nothing of course is impossible. The list I wrote are the designated areas for MK expansion. If they wanted to they could go all the way to Central Shops.

The best thing about this theater which we lost was that Magic Kingdom desperately needs more capacity. It needs to lockbox away big groups of people for an hour, a theater eating 2000 folks an hour for a few hours a day would have been lovely.

Hey @marni1971 Is there any reason they didnt re-use the theatre in Tomorrowland by Buzz Lightyear? Either enclose it and use that or demolish it and use the land it was on? Marie

Because it was demolished a few years ago. It was a circa 1980 facility that had been added to and added to without being meant to last so long.

Though I bet they wish they`d replaced it.

Probably nothing that’s in the “blue sky” development? Interesting areas in TL and AL that could be developed. The BTM area doesn’t affect TSL and RoA?

BTM area is not at the top of the list due to the engineering to cross the canal - assuming they still had need to get the Belle in and out of ROA. But there is a proposal to eventually go north of the Splash garden (where the M&G are) and then west around the back of the bathrooms. If they built here or across the canal would depend on what was being built. The BTM train shed also complicates and squeezes things a bit more.

I probably need to look at aerials again, but how big is the plot behind Crystal Palace, next to the treehouse? What could realistically go there? (Meaning what size showbuilding could fit). More or less could it hold more than say, a restaurant?

MK needs more little expansions, like the theater would have been.

Yes. The original plan was for a restaurant sharing the CP kitchens. Bridge access opposite what is now Trader Sams.

I believe that was meant to hold a sit down restaurant. The plot below Pirates could hold an E ticket.

Thanks everyone! Kind of what I figured. I had been wondering if it could hold an entertainment venue, but restaurant seems the best bet. I knew it wasn't too massive back there.

I doubt it. The Veranda is an existing, usable space. Not as much cost.

They've done a drawbridge in the parks already at Epcot for all the barges to come out for Illuminations Reflections of earth on, and it opens and closes once daily while park is in operation.

I don't see why can't do a drawbridge at MK.

And it would only need to open once every couple years at most.

That was actually the land where the new theater was going to go. The access to it was just going to be via the MainStreet overflow corridor, and not Tomorrowland.

Yellow would be relatively easy. As you can see, red is far more involved and not at the top of the list.

So between the red space here and the area south and west of Pirates, which is most likely to get used first? Is one easier to use than the other?

With a bit of juggling of facilities the yellow area could accommodate something theatre style.

(A huge) if they wanted to expand the west side, south of Pirates would be far easier and cheaper.
