Glad to hear the same music in the new videos. The updated videos show some real promise imho. Can not wait to see the finished product.

I love how they kept the jingle. The graphics look pretty good, some outstanding and others don't look completely real to me. I like the addition of more destinations too of course.

My only complaint is that the announcer in the new video doesn't seem as exciting as the original advertisement announcer. This one sounds more scripted. I am just hoping it was a rough draft.

Anyone else feel the same way about the announcer?

Instead of the droid room they can have animatronics of Luke and Vaders RotJ lightsaber scene. They dont even have to move just hav them clashing lightsabers with a death star window behind them... I can dream right?

Wouldn't make sense. ST2 takes place between Episodes 3 & 4.

I'm just saying make it about Star Wars. All that movies. I don't care if the queue clashes with the ride video. Seeing Luke would get me more pumped than Anakin, and Ben...

Can't wait! ... talk about over analyzing though , note that in the copy it states you may not travel to any of these destinations, so I would take it with a grain of salt, after all, it is the que video.

Can't remember when I last actually had to wait in the queue, but doesn't the current adverts include locations you never visit? I know for a fact the posters post ride but pre gift shop advertised locations you never visited on ride. I'm sure they are just covering their backs in case anyone complains.

Am I the only one thinking that this would be the Star Wars equivalent of making a joke about the holocaust.

HA

Is this going to be more like Soarin' the Galaxy than a real thrill ride?

It's going to be the exact same ride system.

Happy to see that they were still using the same Star Tours chime!

THIS. I was so worried that wouldn't be there. That's weirdly more iconic than anything else in the original attraction. They just need the lady with the crazy hair back. The original announcer was pretty great too... definitely gave that late-80s Disney vibe.

PS. Kuchana kuchana!

Don't be concerned ILM an Lucas won't let TDO meess this up. Since it will between the trilogies it means that the empire has just taken over and Obi Won has moved to Tattoine (spelling?). Pod racing or not this simulator has to be more thrilling than what it is now. The old one is mild compared to simulators of today.

The idea of Lucas not letting anyone "mess something up" is hilarious. TDO are masters of restraint and good taste compared to Lucas.

Exactly! They have repeatedly and clearly stated that these might not all be in the final attraction. Remember - the current queue video has Hoth, Yavin IV, and probably some others that I'm forgetting. This is not indicative of the final attraction...

Agree with you completely. The video itself is great, and the text is good as well. Its just the announcer isn't quite as good as the last one. He's alright, but not quite as good.

I have to say, I'm actually surprised how "retro" the whole thing looks, like it's still 1987 and they're still using stock footage from the original three films.

Which is actually interesting, when the fear for SO long has been that any new version of Star Tours would have rammed the new trilogy down everyone's throats. Based on this one video it actually seems like they're ignoring it.

I noticed that too, and I bet they're trying to be respectful to both the Disney-crazy fans and the Star Wars-crazy fans. That's a lot of pressure they've got to live up to... :lookaroun

I liked the clips, but it's just for the queue after all. Nothing to get too excited about yet.

I knew they were going to use elements from both series, but shouldn't the time line progress from the end of Jedi? We aren't travelling back in time. The events of the last three films have happened so they have to be taken into consideration. Unless they have Alderaan blowing up as the Star Tours shuttle leaves, that would be cool.

Actually, in Star Tours 1.0 we travelled back in time. Remember...all of this happened "A LONG TIME AGO in a galaxy far far away."

So yes, we are traveling back in time...and there is no reason that the ride can't take place in between the two trilogies.

Just because we weren't introduced to the Ewoks until Episode 6 doesn't mean that they weren't on the planet prior to Episode 4.
