This is not a great deal for AP holders as they get a 20% discount at Pecos bill's at least.
Yesss

Exactly. If you pay upfront you're less likely to leave early and still be around for impulse shopping. This is convenient for single day guests, or some such. Money is gone at 8a, instead of multiple times throughout the day. Hooray!
We figured a long time ago that the dining plan was not worth it for our family especially when 2 of our kids turned 10. One doesn't eat anything that isn't off the kids menu. Many times our kids just want a pretzel for lunch or a hot dog off a cart. The price point here doesn't seem like a good deal either. At least they should offer a snack as well. The all season dining plans are good for select people. They definitely aren't a good deal for the way we eat at our park, we eat more snacks than meals so I don't even think we'd break even.
I posted the single day plan on here..it's $31.99 no drink included. Is Six Flags price similar?
Still not enough of a deal to really make any difference. Just guarantees their money. But portion sizes have shrunk over the past 5 years while prices went up. I'm not falling for that "Nabisco trick." (Nabisco products reduced their packaging sizes and now call the old regular size "family size)
Six Flags has horrible service. Went last September for the fist time in over 10 years and was figured by the filth in their kitchens and eating areas. At my local Six Flags (yeah, I know..no comparison...just hold on), you can get a season pass add-on that gets you lunch and dinner every time you go to the park. Yeah, the food's not great, but they do have some good-tasting, nutritional stuff if you go to the "fresh cafe" locations and stay away from the filler-laden burgers. I paid $90 for the entire season (which is six months here in the frozen north). It's a super deal.
Of course, Disney doesn't have to offer anything like that. But it's a stark difference.
I think this is aimed at AP's and Florida AP's because they all know places that are a better deal outside the parks and will usually eat before and after they visit. I can be home in 12 minutes after leaving the MK gate so it's no value to me.Exactly. If you pay upfront you're less likely to leave early and still be around for impulse shopping.
Plus as has been said the company is guaranteed the money.
It's just another way to pay for your food - pay up front and put your wallet away. Not a savings at all and not designed to be. It's like if Disney started accepting payment in Canadian dollars, or bitcoin.
Or for $20 with NO DISCOUNTS you can get 3+ meals at Subway, Taco Bell and many other "quick serve" restaurants outside the parks. And you won't have to settle for just water either. With my discount and ordering water, I can get two meals at pecos for $20 easy.

Their chili cheese fries were the best!!Yesssi just wish Pecos will add fries back to the menu. I think they have started to give nachos with the meals though that is nice.
Not add much to the transaction time? "Would I like a Quick Service Dining plan? What is it? Tell me about it. What do I get? Are there any restrictions? Will I save money?" The explanation of this is not short and simple because the plan is not simple. Times, restaurants, and menu items are all restircted. The value, if any, is not quantifiable. It depends on where you eat and what you order. Nor is it convenient. Not compared to the ease and simplicity of eating where you want, when you want, ordering what you want, and paying for only what you've ordered. You may already be in line to purchase a 1-day ticket, then the CM says "would you like to add a Quick Service dining plan to that for $x?" You say yes, you pay for your tickets and the meal vouchers, they give you your tickets and your meal vouchers and off you go. I don't see it adding much to that transaction time.
Having the meal vouchers should reduce the time at check out in the quick service locations, hopefully.
You speak the truth.Their chili cheese fries were the best!!
You forgot to add that you would lose about three hours of park time leaving and coming back for those savings.Or for $20 with NO DISCOUNTS you can get 3+ meals at Subway, Taco Bell and many other "quick serve" restaurants outside the parks. And you won't have to settle for just water either.![]()
