New rope drop process at MK

So, I just got back and was part of the walk behind. Still got a rough. Was able to be second and line. My girls did bbb and then waited at the rope. The rope at the castle doesn't drop until the front of the park gets there. Looks crazy with the mob coming up main street through the castle.

I don't mean to offend or anything, but thats just not true. I was there about 2 weeks ago now, and at least once we were able to get 3 FPs for SpaceMTN (Another day, we managed a 2nd, could've went for a 3rd, but we PHed). Once you use all of your first three, you are welcome to select whatever rides are left. Including SpaceMTN. Maybe it was a slow day, when I was there. But your post made it seem impossible no matter when you go. And I am living proof, thats just not the case.

Don't mean to be argumentative, but I just wanted to stop the spread of mis-information.
No offense at all. I just read on multiple sites that more than one ride on headliner attractions was not allowed. It's good to hear that this is not the case. Thank you for correcting me.

They have to be planning some sort of attraction based on Frozen, right?? They HAVE to!

There is all types of stories going around.........DISNEY has the hit of the decade in Frozen, I am sure they are working on the best way to handle it! How ever the rumors out there are just rumors for now.

Iger has his hands full of hits right now and if he's not a complete fool, there going to be a lot of building go on in WD and DLR in the coming years.

Makes a ton of sense from a liability standpoint. Glad they grabbed this by the horns and are trying to control it. Old goofy people ruining thru crowds of children is never a good ideal :)

Yet again - I am confused. I thought FP+ was to eliminate the need to rush to an attraction???? But I will say this - I am not interested in the mad dash and as long as all those people run to see Frozen it will be lower lines on everything else.

It does if you have the FP+ for it. Just as it did under the older FP system. But both system "run out" of FPs so it all on from there :)

It not Mickey at the theater I saw one morning, Donald was by the flag pole , Chip and Dale was by Emporium, Goofey was signing by Tony Town Square, some one by one of the tunnel etc.
Ancient history line up. Now MM in TST. Pluto and Marie at the flag pole. Select days later in the morning Snow may be at City Hall garden and Mary Poppins more rarely by Chapeau. Think still scheduled to be in the former Princess area toward the end of May.

They need Chuck Norris to control the line at the Frozen M&G :)

I can remember a MK rope drop in summer, 1976. A few minutes before 9:00 am, they allowed people to enter Main St. and (if I remember correctly) the rope was at the bridge leading to the Hub.
At the stroke of nine, a fanfare blared through the speakers followed by the announcement, "Ladies and gentlemen! Boys and girls! The Walt Disney characters!!!" Then Mickey and the rest came skipping out of the castle and the rope was dropped and there was a stampede of people running up to meet Mickey and the rest.
Luckily for my family and myself, we avoided the craziness by heading towards the Crystal Palace and on to Adventureland but we looked back and saw utter pandemonium in the Hub.

The funny thing is, this whole fixed meet and greet and character attendants (aka bodyguard) thing is strictly an American implementation. I couldn't believe it when I went to Tokyo Disneyland and saw characters free roaming without attendants.

You know why? Because as much as Japanese people love the characters they're not freaking idiotic enough to get into a fistfight over who's kid was there first. They're patient and they wait and it's a beautiful thing. Every single one of these imbeciles should take a lesson from Japanese people on how to CORRECTLY approach a character meet and greet and get over it.

yes, here in TDR parks does that to because of some sort of a stampede that occur last year that both entrances are all covered with cast members and reminding them to not run and to emter the park safely and running is not allowed for both parks. And I think this MK new safety regulations is a good solution for some madness during opening hours.
