WOL has always been a pass by thing for my family. We basically havent been there in the daytime with a WHOLE lot a ppls since 1997.But me and my dad went in there during christmas time a few months ago, and There was hardly anyone there, but I have to say I really enjoyed going in there.I mean, I havent been for so long, and It was a laid back kinda enviroment(maybe because it was kinda late)We say CC and I enjoyed it, but you can tell it is VERY out of date. The story is like a 1980 film or whatever. The rest of the pavilion looks very out of date to.If anyone knows them tapes you can purchase at WDW called "Walt Disney World, four theme parks, one world"well in the one I got, they showed some films of the pavilion, back when it had a lot of ppl visiting. It was around 1980 when it was being shown, and it looks exactly the same as it does now except with all the ppl.Although I really enjoyed myself there last year.

ITS got to GO

Amen to that. Man I never thought I don't think I'll ever miss a ride as much as I miss JII. But back on topic, I wouldn't miss WOL at all. It's like a ghost town whenever I've been there, and it's best ride aged really fast. I think the best course of action would be adding the storm pavillion there.

I like the earthtones when they are trying for the Jules Verne look like in DLP's Discoveryland or at TDS's Mysterious Island.
I will allways remeber the giant "Star Trek" structures of Epcot when I first saw it as a kid. I hope they never change the color scheme.

That would be very unfortunate. Health and Life has so much potential and value.

We’ve also heard about some kind of small Rain Forest themed coaster or flume ride that could be added to the Land pavilion.

There is absolutely no room for a flume ride. A roller coaster will have a tight fit. . . and indeed I have heard a possible rejuvination of this idea.

I have already expressed my views on the coaster in previous posts.

The push to add a major launched roller coaster ride to Epcot however is still there (SSE: Time Racers) and since they can’t put it inside SpaceShip Earth, they may now be looking at attaching it to the Imagination Pavilion as a new ride (old rides will stay) called Brainstormers.

No room. Soarin' will block the end of the Imagination pavilion. Heck, it is already.

So basically most of the rumors can be thrown out.

My concerns lie mainly with "Discoveryland," the potential coaster, and the future of Wonders of Life.

I say cancel all major plans until we get brand new management (starting from the CEO down) to give a high-budget, healthy, long-term, and THEMING alteration.

EPCOT should always focus on the future. I mean, even to today's generation "Epcot" is a word - not an acronym.

Hey Grizz, I was wondering when you'd show up.
Where ya been all day?
Good points you brought up, again I said it was from Scream Scape. I absolve myself from any responsibility for the rumours.

EPCOT needs WORK!!!

Sad but true... EPCOT needs major work! As if TT, Space, and Soaring weren't enough.... which they aren't, EPCOT still needs major work to bring it up to par. Imagination needs a total retrofit inside and out (but don't touch HISTA!). WOL also needs a major rehab or redo. Living Seas is finally getting its Nemo redo.

I think alot of us lost faith after DCA was built.
California Screamin' is a dumb, cheap, thrill coaster.
I just hope they don't make that mistake again.

If that's true well then uh.....it's a little too late. Sorin' over florida or whatever they're going to call it sounds like the same Soarin'.

Anyways, my only concern about these plans are the
”earth tones” (ala Tomorrowland, DL). I think Future World looks awesome as is and applying earth tones would be a horrible mistake (they may not be too bad if only applied to eastern side of Future World, but it might then be too contrasting). Not to mention the earth tones would completely go against the futuristic tone of Mission: Space and the modern character of Test Track. However, the reason I think this rumor is false is because I’m unable to see how they could apply the “earth tone” scheme without shutting down Future World (or large sections of); seems like a waste of time to me.

andre, i think this is the first time i've ever agreed with you on anything. you brought up some very valid points! the 'Montana' re-do is a concern of mine as well. i too like the way Future World looks as it is. the Innoventions pavilions MIGHT could use a bit of updating on the outside (not too much, just some tweeking), but other than that, i have absolutely no problems with its looks. and i think you're right; if they applied the earth tones to the side with the Land and Living Seas, it just might work. but it would be a complete clash on M:S/TT side. personally, i really don't like the idea of changing the color scheme. then again, Disney could surprise me. the color change might look pretty cool if they did it right. but that would be the key...doing it right!
but, what i don't get about this whole thing, is that, if i read correctly, Disney tryed this before at DL's TL, right? and supposedly it 'failed'? if it truely 'failed' then why the heck would they try it again at Epcot? it just doesn't make sense to me.
the only thing i'm more opposed to than the changing of color is the adding of trees. from the sound of it, this is still a possibility (at least, according to SS) i've ALWAYS hated this idea. not that i hate trees...i love trees! but putting hundreds of them all over that part of Epcot isn't going to solve anything. in fact, it's just pointless.
as for the rumors of the coaster/flume, and Brainstormers (which is such a stupid name, imo...way too much like Barnstormer) i just don't see it happening. there's just not enough room, especially with the adding on of Soarin.
but, as has been said, these are all rumors. and as much as i'm opposed to them, i won't fully believe any of it until i hear it in an official press release from Disney.

Ya it is the same, but Soarin' at least is a some what original for a simulator. It's not a dumb, cheap, thrill coaster. In fact it's one of the few decent things they have at that park.
California Screamin' is just a big roller coaster. The only themeing it has it the giant Mickey outline and that it's a metal coaster made to look like a wooden coaster. No Disney imagination. A dumb cheap thrill coaster. Which is not what I want to see at Epcot if such a thing is ever built.
Unless I'm missing your point, then ignore everything I just wrote.

 I did the same thing when I read it this morning. In fact I re-read it 3 times before it clicked in. (should not go on the net before coffee)
BTW add me to the no new trees/no repaint group.

It's HarmonioUS, NOT HarmoniYOU.
I'm all for the "Greening" of future world.

Heck... its all concrete walkways... and its killer in the FL sun... w/o shade.

Add the trees... but dont paint FW funky earth tones or whatever.

I totally agree. Adding trees to FW would really help. It just sometimes gets waaaay to hot in the summer and there is very little shade in FW (and in World Showcase). So yea, I'm all for this.

I don't necessairly like the "Montana" idea for FW... but changing it around to look much more futuristic (well doi!) is what I'd like.

Trees aren't always the best answer. I mean, look at AK! I guess if they still keep the open spaces at Epcot, it will still be okay.

you've brought up a good point, Bill. and if i may, i'd like to add to it. some have complained that Epcot gets too hot during the summer and is lacking in shade. personally, i've never felt like it was any hotter at Epcot than MK or MGM. however, i always feel like it's hotter at AK...ironically the park with the most plants, trees, and shade. so, imo, trees don't always help a park cool down in the hot summer months. though, i'm not sure what does help.

just thought of something though...is it just me, or does FW lack in benches and other seating areas? i suppose people just use the planters as seats, but shouldn't there be more outdoor seating? specifically in the area just behind SSE.

id have to agree with that too, animal kingdom does really seem like the hottest park!

i dont think epcot has as many benches because every single attraction is indoors. whats the point of having people sit on the sides when they can be entertained in the pavilions or doing some post-show activites of seeing certain sit down attractions?

epcots benching is ok, simply becuase it motivates people to get into a pavilion and experience other attractions.

ah! good thinkin! and i'd say you're probably right on with that! i was mostly thinking of the area just behind SSE (i added that last sentence to my post right after you posted this :animwink: ) but then i remembered that there's the Electric Umbrella on one side (complete with outdoor seating) and the bakery on the other. so there is some nice seating areas in FW...sometimes you just have to look to find them. and like i said, planters are usually quite accessible if you feel like you just can't go on any further. :)
