New Parts For Potato Heads?

OMG, this is amazing.
I've noticed recentlely a shortage of Poncho's and Dumbo's on Ebay...I hope it's not the same in Disney. Does anyone know if they were limited edition? I'd hate to pay $12+ on ebay, when we'll possibly be there next spring and I can get my own. But, if Disney isn't stocking them any more, I better jump on the chance!

Sorry if this has been mentioned before--I'm too lazy to go through 100 posts.
I just got back from WDW on 10-4-04.
The gift shop at Pirates of the Caribbean has a pirate Potato Head set with bandana, sword, peg leg, etc. VERY CUTE!!
Other pieces that made me smile were the Mickey Bar, the guest of honor name tag, and the Rock 'n Roller Coaster guitar.
I just got back from WDW on 10-4-04.

There are new Star Wars pieces for Mr. Potato Head. I know there is a Darth Vader one, not sure if there are any others though.

Anyway...after the 10 NYC pieces, I havent seen much. New box versions, but that's it. Still haven't gotten my poncho or dumbo part yet. The people on ebay are way out of line with their prices.....guess I'll have to be patient and wait until June. (And they better be in stock then!)
So.....if you could kindly let me know where you saw the Star Wars piece, I would greatly appreciate it! :wave:

I saw it in an email from Disney or in a magazine or something from Disney. I'm sure if you do a www.google.com search for Star Wars potato head you'll find something. It's relatively new within the past week or two. I hope you find it and enjoy it!

Even the Hasbro site ( www.mrpotatohead.com ) doesn't show the new potato head.
I can't seem to find where they will be for sale. I'm assuming Toys R Us, because it's on the website, but will other chain stores (i.e WalMart, Target etc) have them too? In the past, Hasbro has made some potato heads only for certiain stores. (WalMart and CVS both had some exclusives)
There are about 30 Darth Taters on ebay, and less then half of them say that they are for a presale.
And....Laura22. Could you do me a favor, and take a quick glance at the poncho's and dumbo parts? I was just wondering if they are fully in stock, or not even for sale anymore. Thanks a bunch! Any report on the potato head stockage would be great!

Well, the listing on Amazon has changed from what it said a couple of days ago. Now it says the product is unavailable and gives no date. When I looked last week, they had the March date listed. So I have no clue what is going on. I had hoped to buy one and thought it would be easy to find when the time came--but looks like I may be wrong. So I'm no help at all.
Maybe they only had a set amount available for presale, and now that amount is gone. I did sign up to get an email when they become available.
I saw two different release dates, March 15th and February 15th.
And I agree, it's gonna be hard to get this edition, between Potato Head fans, and Star Wars Fans, I have a feeling I'll be going on a search.
Maybe I'll have to break down and bid on ebay, just to be on the safe side.

My friend is in PR at Toys R Us and she told me that her boss told her that the next in the "Vader Tater" series is supposed to be mini Luke and Princess Leia called "Vader Tots"?!? I don't know if there is any truth to that rumour at all though.
Does anyone know if you can order Disney potato parts through the mail, or can you only get them in the parks?

You can only order the Dumbo base and Poncho from Disney. The info on how to do that is listed on one of the first few pages of this thread. It gives the part number, price, and shipping costs.
As for the individual small pieces, that cannot be ordered because it is a fill your own box. You can try ebay though.

I was at the World of Disney store in NYC yesterday and noticed that they had the Mr. Potato Head where you stuff the box for $18. They had special pieces that were geared for New York, like the NYC subway map, the hot pretzel's sold by street vendors, and the statue of liberty crown headpiece. I know there were a few others, but can't think of them off hand. I was surprised by how much that store's merchandise was the same as what you could buy in the World of Disney Store in the Marketplace in WDW.
