I think you are thinking about the other fountain. The Fountain of Nations was situated behind SSE. The one we are looking at here is in front of SSE and is at least a close replica of the fountain that was there when EPCOT first opened. That wasn't a dancing fountain, but it was a very inspirational and nice fountain. We are getting it back after a long, long absence.

I meant the fountain in front of SSE, the one from my profile pic. I was just always fond of it and never failed to take some pictures of it when I went. Someday, when I'm a home owner, I'll have a smaller replica made with the EPCOT pavilion logos carved onto it.

I wasn't too active on forums back then, but man what happened?! Having a (bigger) water feature makes all too much sense.. Seeing this makes me really sad as to what we could've gotten :(

If memory serves me correctly, that plan also included a gigantic meet-n-greet instead of 7 Dwarves Mine Train so be careful what you wish for. ;)
Ahh! Didn't really look into it hard enough lol, I just briefly saw the water and waterfall and bridge features and was like ooooh! Me want!
But yes, 7DMT over a meet-n-greet any day.

Kinda reminds me of the ax'ed bridge we didn't get in TSL either..

No official announcement but safe to assume they want it open by flower and garden. So that would be early March if the weather cooperates.

My best guess.

Also if you look at the other side...it took from 8/6-12/20 which included removing the monoliths. 4.5 months. Since this side already had its monoliths removed, March should line up since it will take less time if they are so inclined to do this ASAP of course (which they seem like they are).

As i recall, SDMT actually replaced two additional variants of Enchanted Tales with Belle. One was to be themed to Cinderella (visible in this concept art) and the other to Snow White On the back side. I think what we got was better and much more popular.

I believe Pixie Hollow was also included in that mix.

As far as meet-n-greets go, it was going to be pretty impressive, but I am glad they went with an attraction instead.

no matter how impressive, meet and greets are usually geared to children (unless youve just always wanted to meet (insert character) or want a pic for fb (not insulting so please dont take it that way). So an attraction in my book is always better.
What i would like to see is kind of the epcot way they did rides. Instead of ride then exit through the gift shop, many epcot rides were exit into hands on experiences. I would like to see this, attraction exit to experience that also includes meet and greets of characters. Especially if the meet and greet matched the ride (everything is ip based anyway). Then again meet and greets are so popular now the lines would prob be crazy. I miss the days of if you saw a character you just got your pic taken, and they were just roaming around. Then again i never saw mickey or donald as a kid because of this.

As I understand it, meet-n-greets, as they are now, are a necessary evil. Roaming characters just don't work with the current attendance but, guests want pictures with the characters so here we are. Park operations would eliminate them in a second if they could as the manpower it takes to run them compared to the number of guests they serve per hour is atrocious.
