Some people can’t find their front door.Oh, I dunno. I've encountered a few people who weren't even aware that there were attractions beyond when I was in the parks. It certainly went against the concept of a "weenie" to draw people.

Alright! It was just that one time and tequila was involved. Cut me some slack. Some people can’t find their front door.
Well to be fair, its tough to read the app and the printed brochure and the multitude of signs or to ask a CM.Some people can’t find their front door.
To be fair if you can’t find the seven huge buildings as you exit the breezeways you probably shouldn’t be out.To be completely honest are there even ANY directional signs at Epcot anymore beyond the breezeways and Project Tomorrow exit?
Blows my mind when people say they never knew Wonders existed in it’s later years. Like yeah the foliage has gotten overgrown but it’s still very visible from the breezewayTo be fair if you can’t find the seven huge buildings as you exit the breezeways you probably shouldn’t be out.
I have friends that have been visiting EPCOT since the 80s... About 10 years ago we were there and I suggested we start with Spaceship Earth... The never knew there was a ride inside there...they just thought it was some exhibits....they always went in through the back exit doors...lolBlows my mind when people say they never knew Wonders existed in it’s later years. My Grandparents had the same issue way back when. Thought the line was just the main way into the park and they were smart going around.I have friends that have been visiting EPCOT since the 80s... Someone I know who visited many times thought World Showcase was a resort and never stepped foot in there.Wait... those building are part of the park?!!
Also, in my younger years, I never knew there was anything more to the national pavilions other than the movies and Gran Fiesta. My family just marched around the lake. I thought it was all facades.
Ignorance can be bliss.Someone I know who visited many times thought World Showcase was a resort and never stepped foot in there.
I did have one time when I was working in the camera center under Space Ship Earth, we had a guest come in the store. The merchandise people and I had already observed him walking past the store a few times- always going in the same direction. His question went something like, "I've been on the ride in the big ball, and seen the stones in the front. Is that all there is in the park? Where's the rest and how do I get to it?"
He'd essentially been walking in circles around Space Ship Earth, unable to figure out how to walk out past it to, y'know, the rest of the park...
Granite can easily be re-purposed...it would be awfully wasteful to bulldoze the monoliths and destroy them.Do we think this time around they'll remove the bases as carefully as the other side? Or will they just rip up everything from the ground once all the monoliths are gone? To the non-construction-minded like me, it seems like a waste to remove the bases and then the pavement, when it seems like they could just bring in a back-hoe or something along those lines and rip the entirety out at once.

Sorry, I didn't mean the monoliths themselves. It looks like once they remove the monoliths, there's a few inch tall base left behind, that looks to be concrete (maybe it is also granite though).
This is from the other side, but shows the bases that were once there and removed and filled in.

They were taken up carefully on the other side because they just needed to fill in those spots so it can become walking area. I think on this side they will just take all the concrete out and start from scratch.
As of this morning the other rocks are all gone. The fountain is also all nakey and smooth too.I had wondered why the first side of the monoliths disappeared so quickly, and why the other half still stands. This makes sense.
I'm sure it's back in this thread, but do we think that the entrance work is a 6mos or one year project from here? I should expect that they shouldn't need to take forever
