Must say that in watching videos of the parade, they don't even seem to have all that much attitude. Maybe they do in the press photo, but in the parade itself they seem all smiles in a typically corny Disneyland way!I agree that the faux attitude is corny and dumb, but I'm sort of whatever about the whole spectacle. Maybe I'm less bothered because I'm from SF? I'm also a special events industry veteran and terribly jaded, so there's that. Maybe I need to see it person? I guess I'll have my chance when I'm there next week.
Given how thirsty Disney is for media attention and increased revenue, and the fact that the company is a global entertainment giant headquarted in the LA region with Hollywood roots, I'm surprised anyone is surprised by this stylistic turn. I mean they couldn't do Kids of The Kingdom at Disneyland forever, right?

I mean, does this really read as a serious attempt at being edgy to anyone?
If anyone here know or is even aware who Todrick Hall is then you already would have expected what kind of parade this will be like based on watching his YouTube music videos. This is even a tamer and family friendly version of his creations. His name is all over the soundtrack, the choreography, the movement of the characters etc.
Did those to "Magic and Mayhem Merry Makers" have to take a bathroom break? LOL Where were the two extra girl dancers coming from that they had to be "escorted" back to their position?
I don't know about failing to be hip and edgy if you literally see YouTube videos of people recreating the choreography of the parade, especially the opening dance. People usually cover dance choreography of music videos but parade no. I don't get the TIkTok phenomenon but I do see a bunch of videos related to the parade.Disney always fails at being hip and edgy. See DCA 1.0 and this parade.
There are always a small group of crazies that do such things. Besides, five year olds will dance to anything.I don't know about failing to be hip and edgy if you literally see YouTube videos of people recreating the choreography of the parade, especially the opening dance. I guess since they are reused chassises from soundstational which used to have a good amount of breakdowns too.By the way why are the floats already breaking down?
