So water screens with scenes from the movie?

I'd rather spend what little time we will have at night in the park on the safari and traveling around the park. I can wait for RoL til October or next year.
I hope a lot of people will feel the same.

It will give them a chance to work what ever bugs appear when they try to load and unload the theater without a capacity crowd.

Yeah pretty much. They need to use the elements that are currently working, which as we saw last night, are the projectors and fountains in a fixed position.
Oh I get it completely. I'm impressed that they are doing this to get the park open into the evening. It's a classy way to deal with unforeseen delays and should put the rumor that the delay was a budget cut to bed.

This is FAR better than the short-lived rumor that Jungle Book was being added to RoL.

It was brilliant putting the fountains on floats instead of under the water. I bet they wish they had thought of that before World of Color. Where they went wrong was with the GPS tech. The Electrical Water Pageant has been running since forever without GPS.

They did think of it, Illuminations has had fountains on barges since long before World of Color.

Like & Hate this! Lol

I hate writing it, It's just that over the past 10 years or so TWDC has become the poster child for what's wrong with American corporate behavior and dysfunctional corporate culture. For crying out loud Disney's actions now would make Gordon Gekko blush.

Um... It's almost summer... Crowds, eager to see river of light and they are rushing a jungle book filler projection show?! Come on Disney, work testing into your schedule and make your announced opening dates. Many families have spent time and money around your new shows and attractions. Put double shifts on it-if you wanted to get it done there's a way.

I am sorry, but they I truly hope nobody would plan and pay for an entire trip around given opening dates. Anything could go wrong, and that goes for any company.

You are right, that's the golden rule around here. Never plan a trip assuming something new will be open. Will just be icing on the cake if they happen to be open.

So I'm assuming Rivers of Light won't be open in time for a late July trip? Man, this stinks. Oh well, I guess its just another reason to come back.

NORMALLY i would agree with both of the above posters, however... when you have chosen a date FAR in advance because you know RoL, Maelstrom redo, and late nights at AK are planned for the spring... when suddenly your vacation in the AUTUMN may miss one of the major "new things" on your to do list, you really can't fault the person and say "well don't book a vacation around it".

Some people have vacations booked further out because of it (crazy folks like me. HI!!!), and are now learning they may or may not see the new show.

I love the idea of rivers of light. I truly hope it comes to fruition. The concept of celebrating animals and nature, sans Disney characters, just seemed so magical. I hope that they can figure out whatever issues they are having and truly open this show the way it was intended. :(

Are hours going to be extended more for these nighttime offerings? June hours went from 5 PM to 8 PM, but that's still a half hour before sunset.
