They aren't very muted in color in person. Nowhere near go-away green, which would have been nice. They are quite bright, and I couldn't take my eyes off of them looking across the lake. They are rough, and I really hope they get some sense and re-paint them.

I think they might be deliberately a little rough looking to fit in with the other India/Asia paint jobs around the area.

Possibly we'll see some "aging" applied to them now that they are installed? They look roughly the color of weathered/patina layered copper... some painting with some copper color and black on these could make them look quite nice...

I thought seafoam more than copper, but yes, they absolutely could be aged to look appropriate. I can understand the rationale, as the area with Theatre In The Wild is more of a generic transition path, but they really do look terrible from the village across the lake.

I don't mean rough as in aged, I mean rough as in perfectly smooth seafoam blue/green paint sticking out like a Brazilian tour guide in a neon football jersey.

I thought they might be a bit bright in person. I personally think a muted brown would work. Add a few strands of wire between them and maybe some glued on flyers and you could pass them off as telephone poles that are part of Serka Zong.

You can still make a late complaint, but it'll cost you a $69 upcharge. :p

Should've reserve his complaint 60 days in advance...

I think that may very well be the plan for the side of the viewing area that is actually in serka zong. So far we have only seen the poles go up on the theater in the wild side and the poles seem to follow the design ascetic of that area.

I completely trust that the Serka Zong side will look wonderful. I just don't like that the views from Serka Zong toward that treeline are now dominated by these blue poles. I'm just hoping it ends up fixed.

I'm not sure what the beef is about the light or speaker posts in the new seating area. If I recall, prior to the seating being created, if you walked from Everest around past the Theater in the Wild, the foliage was so dense you could barely see the river except from the bridge between Asia on the route toward Dinoland. It's not as if the speakers and light posts are taking away from a view that once existed. They may distract from the view that's been created, but I'll reserve judgement till they're done with all construction and I actually see if for myself.

As I keep saying, it's not the view from the Theatre side, it's the view from the other side of the lake. The Serka Zong side. My "beef" is that they are very brightly colored, and unlike everything else on the Theatre/Dinoland shore, they do not blend in. Previously, when you looked across, you saw nothing but foliage and maybe glimpses of the buildings. The Theatre is a shade of green, with a nice paint treatment of foliage to help it blend, even as a large "generic" building. I don't complain much, but those speaker poles really are atrocious. See 'em in person, and they look very different than in the photos here.

That all makes sense. However, I still think it may be worth waiting till construction is complete before panning the incorporation of the poles. They may get a different top coat, something else added beyond the seating area of another colour, who knows? Though they may be left exactly as they are and 100% of those who see it may agree with you.

Amen, the animal kingdom team seems to be very concerned with consistency and authenticity with their teeming. I am sure there is a rhyme and reason for what they are doing and most assuredly they will look good when they are done. The AK track record of late has been great.
