lol

A ringing endorsement if ever there was one.

Well we are making it sound like the current state of the show is horrible. It's not.

It would be nice if they could get the floating lanterns added to the show before it debuts, even if they don't function exactly how they were meant to. Other than that I feel the current version is strong enough to please most guests until a new version of the show can be created.

From what I've heard it needs a lot of work. It's better than Jungle Book, but that's about it.

"Not that Bad" for a show that is supposed to keep people in the park is a pretty big fail.

I get it, it just made me chuckle.

"Not that bad of a show" is completely unacceptable from the company that produced Wishes, IllumiNations, Fantasmic (dated now, but impressive in 1999), World of Color, etc. Disney nighttime spectaculars are expected to be jaw-dropping. At this point, they need a show to give guests a reason to stay into the evening so we can see the many-millions-of-dollars in lighting going into Pandora. It is probably best to do what they can now, premiere something in 2017, and work behind-the-scenes to develop something better to open a couple years later following a several-month closure. Kinda like what happened with World of Color (though it is debatable whether the 60th show was an upgrade).

For many, this may be a one-and-done. Imagine that. I've seen WDW's other nighttime spectaculars dozens of times and still want to see them. Imagine if people saw Wishes and said, "eh. I think I'll skip that on Wednesday and have a pool night instead."

2016 has been the worst year ever in so many ways.

You know what's funny?
I simply fail to see how this show made it this far if it truly wasn't up to par. Aside from a few minor-sounding elements, nothing is really missing from the current show being previewed and the original concepts.

dunno...maybe you can never be 100% until it plays out in front of a crowd.

Yes. And sometimes you cross your fingers and hope. I have students who know they are turning in a bad paper and cross their fingers and hope for an A, anyway. They are upset when they get a D but know, deep down, that is what they earned.

Just wait for 2017 if you think 2016 was bad, On the FY16 Earnings call Disney called the 'environment is challenging for P&R' But we are gonna build more HOTELS, That's right HOTELS not invest in attractions

I read that as more cuts and upcharges and 'sell the parks more than once' to keep the numbers looking shiny

Because this was a Boardroom Project, i.e. Lots of Powerpoint and graphs and charts but the actual work was far down on the priorities list...
