How long has this been offered? I'm wondering if the animals being more active at twilight is simply due to their confusion because they are used to being in their nighttime housing at that time of day.
Nah. It's just an active time of day for animals. Both nocturnal and diurnal animals are active then.

Maybe they are pushing the announcement up to compensate for all the closures do to the storm. Maybe like a silver lining to all the bad news right now.
Just my guess, but if they were to announce something it would be friday at some random time when no one is paying attention haha since that seems to be when they announce things. But I doubt they would announce something like ROL during a hurricane to avoid coming across as "offensive" or "insensitive" to the horrible things that Matthew will bring. Who knows when we'll get an announcement. I just hope its open for my trip the week after thanksgiving :)

I spoke to a woman who said she worked for Disney managing live entertainment. She doesn't work on RoL but said Disney isn't likely to release a date at all. But that it will be open by the holidays. I've no idea who she really was, if she even works for Disney at all, it's just what I've heard =D

Holidays is the absolute latest goal. You see, when Imagineering signed off on RoL (yes, they signed off), it came with an extensive testing mandate, so don't even expect a date, if one at all, until this mandate is complete.

Any idea how close the mandate is to being completed?

Well holidays at THE LATEST sounds promising. I won't hold my breath. :(

It's not bad Disney news, it's a statewide emergency. I don't really think WDW owes people something like this. They owe safety.

I know its not Disney's bad news. But its a stressful time. So I was thinking maybe they would want to coincide it with releasing something uplifting and cheerful.

And I am not dampening the seriousness of the storm. I am a New Orleans native who lost everything in Katrina. Believe me, I get it better than anyone.

Yes, but it's better for them to just stay out of the news so they don't get associated with a hurricane. Very few people really follow Rivers of Light news, so it would feel unusual to be trying to release good news while the state is coping in certain areas.

I'm really hoping to see it between 10/29-11/4 but each day looking like not likely. "Holidays" at Disney starts the very next week. I could miss it by several days for all I know.
