Rumor New Monorails Coming Soon?

Ferry doesn't have enough capacity to take the throngs to MK and out. Hoards of guests waiting for the Ferry are hoards of guests not spending money on Main Street. The $5 per ride is less than the price of a cup of coffee and a breakfast sandwich at Main Street Bakery. Better to have them in the park spending money than waiting outside to not spend $5.
What's the throughput of the ferries when they are running 4 3 of them? And how does it compare to the throughput of the monorail. I did a search online but couldn't find passengers per hour figures.

Could very well be, I'm just trying to make sense out of it and connect it to the person that stated the they were working with the Monorails in the 70's and his check didn't say anything about WED. It is yet another unimportant bit of discussion anyway. It doesn't matter what name they put on it, if the money is coming from the bottomless pit that is TWDC, how it is routed makes almost no difference to anything.
My paycheck had Walt Disney World logo on it (might have been a division) but definetly not WED. Heck in those days we called the brakes WABCO's even instead of MAPO's. (short for Westinghouse Air Brake). But my paycheck looked exactly the same as when I came over from Grand Prix.

Sure, but, we cannot believe someone that was there and actually lived it. That would be foolish. Thanks for stopping back in and confirming what was said.

Assuming just from TTC - From memory Ferry is 600 people per boat, assume 3 (I don't think they often run all 4), 10 min each way, 5 min load/unload time. So each boat can do 2.4 round trips per hour, ~1440 per boat, 4320/hr.

Monorail has capacity of 360, 3 trains. 5 min to park, 10 min from park back to TTC, 5 min load/unload. So each train 3 trips/hour, 3249/hour total.

This is all back of the envelope and I welcome someone more knowledgeable providing more accurate daya.

The big thing though, is if they charge for the monorail, many people won't ride and likely monorail doesn't run at capacity. The boats will have to absorb the extra traffic, and likely will back up.

I have been to WDW 45 or 46 time over the last 35 years. Never once have I gone there and would pass up getting to the attractions. Never once did I go there for the food. That is just a side note though. The ferry's are before the bakery even if the did want to spend their money there. The ferry's hold a lot more people and even at opening or closing I have never had to wait more then one boat before I was on and moving. That would happen if I walked up to them just as they were leaving and 5 minutes later, the boat was there. That would be why I only ride the Monorails when the movement is much smaller and I can just walk in as soon as the train gets there. It really isn't that hard to figure out what is happening and how to use it to your advantage.

I do attempt to have a Mickey Bar at least once a day, but, that isn't why I go there.

People don't go to MK for the food, but they certainly consume a lot of food when they are there. My point was I don't think they'd ever directly charge for the monorail and not the Ferry. They already charge for parking, if they want more $$, it would be far easier to just raise the parking rates than add a new fee.

As @s8film40 documented, you worked before WED Transportation Systems was even established.

Yes, also interesting that they said WDW back then, that’s far more specific than they were during my time and I believe they currently are.

No, the part I missed was why anyone would give a rats butt about it.
Again you’re the one that keeps bringing it up. You seem determined to try to disprove what I said earlier, then when faced with facts you claim it’s something that no one should care about. I agree it’s a minor thing, I’m not sure why you’re so hung up on it. I don’t know if you’re seriously this confused or just trolling, either way it’s getting kind of old.

Good god... forget about it. I was just echoing what the other person had said. I have no knowledge or concern about the time frames, so if you feel better to know that you were right then, gosh you are so right. However, I still don't care one way or the other. Now can you let it go? That's what I'm trying to do.
