So we are getting used ones from somewhere or nothing at all?
Bet on 'nothing at all'

If your rule 2 were correct, please explain all the construction going on at both WDW and DL.
All those projects are designed to create additional incremental revenue so Disney is spending on them See Ford's 1'st rule If a rumor will create additional revenue, It's happening.
Hotels, Restaurants, Retail and to some degree new lands create revenue - so disney spends grudgingly on them.
Yet guest amenities and entertainment continue to be slashed in accordance with Ford's third rule for rumors If something is being removed which will improve profitability It's happening.
Monorails, Parades, Entertainment all COST TDO money without producing incremental revenue. Now of course if TDO could figure out how to upcharge guests for using the monorail new ones would be here in a flash.
Until then dream on about New monorails.

Spending capital on new monorail trains would preserve existing, and highly profitable, nightly rates at the monorail loop resorts.
Wait are you referring to yourself in the third person?!? Have you laid out your "rules" in a post? I can't seem to find Ford's Rules on Disney Rumors...
I wouldn’t say new monorails have been ordered.
At least one of the LV ones was crushed at a Monster Truck show. There is youtube video of it, it is very hard to watch...Hey if used is good enough for AirForceOne then it is good enough for WDW and it's monorails. I hear there are a few used ones in a junk yard in Las Vagas somewhere.

There may be even more somewhere in Central Florida.

"Now-ish than later-ish". I like that.Well, if they haven't been ordered and the MK MSt. Theater money didn't go toward new monorails, then the only thing left of Tom's claims is that the door incident is triggering a decision to get new monorails more now-ish than later-ish.
Is that the part you were intimating is true when you said there's something there to his claims?

A few? Probably. A whole fleet? Doubtful.I wonder if they bigs are contemplating a monorail present for MK on it’s birthday... could bombardier fill an order in time for a few trains by then?

Left off #4- These posts are admittedly completely full of b#ll#cks....I have many times and only three exist. This thread has them all but since you ask
Ford's WDW Rumor Rules
1 - If a rumor about WDW will create new incremental revenue, It's happening
2 - If a rumor about WDW will cost WDW money without incremental revenue it's NOT happening
3- If a rumor about WDW will save WDW money It's happening.
Apply these to all WDW rumors and track the results, You don't even need 'insiders'. But these rules are pretty much applicable to any US based corporation as they are based on the Our REAL customer is Wall Street mentality notable exceptions being Amazon/Facebook who do not care what Wall St wants.
Rule #2 has exceptions around security/govt issues where WDW has no choice in the matter.
A few? Probably. A whole fleet? Doubtful.
Just how many would it take to replace WDW's entire fleet anyway? I honestly don't even know how many they have now.A few? Probably. A whole fleet? Doubtful.

It would depend how and who exactly built them.Bombardier Transportation has a $34 Billion backlog as of 12/1/17. I would doubt you could get a a single new train between design and production in 10 years.
Disney is a small customer compared to say the NYC MTA.
It would depend how and who exactly built them.
