Saw it in person today. It's not nearly as bad in real life as the picture makes it out to be.

What I don't get is why it's only one ONE side of ONE car at ONE end of ONE monorail.

It's rather incongruous.

Do you know what though? The guests like the new design. When purple pulls into a station with the new design, guests like the way it looks. So, all this complaining and moaning that you guys do here will mean nothing as long as the average Disney guest enjoys the design (which isn't that bad IMO)

It is only on Monorail Purple temporarily. The front car was done mainly for press photos. Monorail Purple was used for the Family that won the park to themselves last week. They rode in it to the Magic Kingdom, and exited out the front car. I haven't heard anything about the other Monorails being done.

Now that I see the pic with the doors closed, I'm not sure I like it so much. It just looks too busy. I'll reserve my judgment until I see it next week.

And, for all you whiners (which is all this board seems to be made up of some times), it's temporary. In about six months, I'm sure there will be some other random, miniscule thing that will drive you all nuts.

This was my original thougt also. I got flamed for my response and probably deserved it. I was a little harsh I guess. But does anyone have a pic from a distance? I bet it does not look as bad as most of you think. Some of you will say yeah 10 miles away. But seriously take a look from a greater distance and see.

I think it would be cool if they themed monorails with Disney characters. You could have the Mickey color monorail - black, red, yellow,and white, Figment monorail - purple and yellow, etc.....

Okay now that I have seen it with the doors closed, I like it, we need a little bit of pep and spicyness to the monorails every once in awhile. As Sheryl Crow says "A Change will do you good"

Looks like Jackson Pollack came back from the dead to paint the new design. It definitely does look like someone tossed their cookies all over it, both with and without the doors closed. Someone need to tell WDI, that sometimes less is more. It looks like something that should be riding up and down International Drive.
