New Land

Okay here is a story board draft, sorta, the idea is guests are on route on a luxury Air Liner with their guide to see an island with a volcanoe and land there.

Here is a schematic of the car

It uses an EMV platform, but it of course does not use it at the intensity that other EMV rides do/would, to be clasified this would be a gentle ride, as there is a CM on board, the reason it is there is just to do smoth tilted turns and a small dip when the ship gets struck by lightening and another one as an evvasive manuver to doge a cannon ball from the Air Pirates.

The cannon compartments are for when the Air Pirates attack those panels open upwards and cannons move horizontally out from the sides of the there are three compartments on the other side too, the only function of the cannon is to puff fogthen the enemy air ship reacts acordingly.

I really like it. It seems like great ideas so far. I can't wait to finish up the show, I'm almost done with it. Other projects are keeping me busy, but whatever. LOL! Sounds great plot and ideas. I really like the air cannons on the sides and the host is great! - The WeirdOne :D
 
The initial decent would be nearly vertical making use of the EMV hydroids to keep the “ship”, level during the decent, the would be seat belts on this ride but mainly to prevent people from getting up. The effects would just be a lot of fog seeming to be clouds and well hidden video screens (lots of fog density around them) showing birds flying by and other cycles of real looking sky footage, then the ship would proceed through a series of show rooms, picture these rooms to have a upside down U shaped top with a floor. The Upside down U will actually be a large video screen and the floor will have models, for this part of the ride. The seating will be changed slightly see the new seating diagram. The first 5 show rooms then will be 5 different to scale scenes as if you were flying over them. I am not sure of the scenes right now party because we need to decide on where exactly Discovery Bay will “be” geographically.

Total time for decent and show rooms 5 min 30 sec

Sounds great. I think Discovery Bay should be in the northwest somewhere. With those bays and heavily forested areas. Sounds perfect place to me. Like Washington or Oregon. - The WeirdOne :D

P.S. - Decent? don't you mean going up? I don't understand why they would be going down. Plus, blimps don't go vertical. We might have to axe that.

No you are right it is going up sometimes I get my wires crossed, so that is a descrption of the accent, however the ship does not go up vertical the track goes up near viertical but the hydrolics level out the ship making it an angular accent. Really the track is steaper than the acutal accent appears to be this way we can fit an angular accent into a smaller space and still get up to the maxiumim hieghts. See the diagram below, although the anlge is not the one we will probably go with it gives you an idea of the differnce between the track angle and the accent effect.


The actuall Discovery Bay was supposed to be on the Barbary Coast which I believe is somewhere in California, right, I dunno I am geographically chalanged, any ways I think if we make it the Pacific NorthWest Wilderness it would be spectacular, I think we can just keep the show room scenary then al' natural so to speak, sweeping landscapes and breathtaking views of nature in it's finest.

Excellent work! I'm very pleased so far. I like Californai if that also works better for you. I would persoinally be so scared on ths ride, because Kongfrontation frekaed me out so much! LOL! Looks great. What are our sky pirates? Skeletons? People? Animals? Any ideas? - The WeirdOne :D
 
The Sky Piartes will be humans I am trying to keep this as psudeo real as possible. I will go into more detail about that later, I will try to get the next scene up asap.
 
First to go back, I think we can just make the area just in general california/pacific northwest area but not get speciifc. The 4 show rooms will then be:

Pine Forests
Mountains
Coast/Bay
Ocean

Then after the show room with the ocean landscape you move into a room with lot's of fog(rooms are seemlessly blended using the efect of having tv screens for the walls) the lighting in the room slowly starts to dim and the is lot's or rumbling the ocean below starts to get more turblunt and the video on the walls turns black to give the effect of flying into a storm cloud(the water below is real water in all the ocean scenes) usinge the screens on the walls and fiberoptics haning from the ceiling lighting is simulated all around the ship, the ship shakes with the thunder rumbles, then sudenly lighting strikes the ari ship and it does a short dip before the captain gets control of it again, when the ligthing stikes the ship strobes go off on the shipjust to give a flash of light then the storm clears in the revers as it fomred and you can see the island in sight.

Total ride time so far : 7 min

Sounds great so far. My only problem is, won't the tv screens be expenive. Shouldn't we only have them in certain places, with the rest bing covered up by 3D realistic scenery? I mean, I know when I see a movie, compared to a set. - The WeirdOne :D
 
Okay that works they will still have to be in several places to give the effect os seeing into the distance, it would work metter on a screen then with the models, and the floor is models unless you are over the ocean.

Next you curve a smooth left and take in beautiful ocean views and the island (on a screen in this room) slowly is getting closer you curve a smooth rightand take in more views. Then as you enter the next room where the model of the island is a canon ball comes whizing past the front of your ship(blanced by serries of air cannons in the floor the combonaiton of on and off's move the cannon balls in the snow room. The air ship turns to be gretted face to face with an air ship with the jolly roger on the front of the blimp dun dun dun it's air pirates, they fire again and the captain raises the ship quickly to avoid it then lowers it again, then while the pirates(AA's) are laughing, the captain pulls a lever and the cannons come out the side, the air piartesa who only have a single cannon now cower to your ships 12 , they duck out of the visible range, then your captain fires and pyro go off on the ship and the top ballon deflates and the ship falls(supprots are behind the ship, so not visible) then your ship turns around takes one last scenic cirlcel then enters the final show room where the ship decends to the dock on the island and you depart

Great ideas, except, you knew it was coming. It seems very anti-climatic. Shouldnt it be like a giant battle ensures between the pirates and the ship with the pirates first getting the upperhand and you begin taking all sorts of damage. Pipes break, panels fly, etc. Just amazing stuff, smoke, pyro, etc. At the end, the shoot them in the rudder and they go flying and you begin crashing towards the sea. Your CM pulls you out of the jam ina safely into the dock. The rest seems great to me. - The WeirdOne :D
 
True, and some of that does need to be added in but due to this being a gentler ride to even out the more intense rides in the area the intensity of the final scene should not be too much, I will add more in later
 
Okay here is the revised battle scene it will pick up from when the ship is raised to avoid the second cannon ball, then the captain brings out the front 4 cannons and fires each set of two cannons in tandum with each pari atagered from the other, but the pirates swivel back and forht to miss all four, now the pirates bring out two larger cannons and fire a smaller ball with the tow larger ones behind them in a tirangle, the captain tries tilt the ship in time but one of the larger balls hits the side of the ship (ship shakes slightly) then the captain fires back this time all four cannons are in tandum and the piartes titlt to the left to avoid one pair but get hit hard by the second pair, and large pyros go off. Then they retaliate by bringing out a really big cannon they fire and it is too big to doge and it hits the nose of your ship, pyros go off and your ship moves back several feet, your captain goes to unleash the other cannons but the lever is jammed and he can't get them unstuck, again the pirates fire the larger cannon and the ship is hit back furhter and an indentations is made on the front control pannel of the ship, tha captain si again sturgeling to get the other cannons out, the pirates fire the two smaller cannons and several ropes on each side fall off, then it will pick back up with the pirates laughing but only eight extra canons are unvield.

Sounds much better, except I still need some more action, like blasts of air, smoke, some sparks and pipes blowing out. I know this is family ride, but make a bit scarier/realistic. I really ike it so far. - The WeirdOne :D
 
Okay, where your ship misses the cannon balls air cannons will go off like the cannon balls are whizing by

When the first hit to the ship happens pipes will pop out of the contorl pannels and it will smoke a bit the succesive blows to the nose of the ship will cause more pipes breaking out and more smoke inaddition to the indentation.
