Picture #3...

As the singing continues, the singer begins to rise.

Picture #4...

She rises to her upmost point, revealing a beautiful tapestry with part of Discovery Bay on it.

Picture #5...

The tapestries open up to cover the whole stage much later in the number, towards the end showing a beautiful tapestry of Discovery Bay

Picture #6...

The last couple words, the singer rises into the hanger.

Picture #7...

The thing rises into the very top most portions of the hanger (it's rolled up as it goes up basically and the singer runs along the catwalk to change for her/his next number.

More coming...

This is confusing, so bare with me...

Picture #1...

basically, the two side champoagne bottles are moved into their positions. Then the middle on is moved into it's, except, it rises out of the box it is in. Minnie climbs the stairs to the bottle, and the tapestres change, one falls off and another falls down into place.

Picture #2...

The tapestry is down and Minnie gives her speech and there is that countdown.

More coming...

Last one. Boy is this one confusing...

Picture #3...

After the 1, the three champagne bottles explode. The two side ones with pyro, and the middle one with confetti streamers, but not into the audience, just into the stage and the first 2 - 3 rows MAX. Then, the middle champagne bottle sinks into the box again and the two side ones are pulled offstage by the stage hands. There is dancing and into the Chaser number they move.

Great Work, the show looks really good!! :D

I think sticking with R.M.S. Hyperion in the show is fine since it is taken place around the voyage of the ship and not really anything about Discovery Bay ...

I think I got the jist from the drawings glad you posted descriptions aswell though, lol

I should have the descriptions of the shadow windows up fairly soon, I got side tracked with some other Imagineering projects I am personally working on, but I will try to focus back on this for a while, wish we could get some other people to help, nudge, nudge wink, wink other SOJI members ;)

Also WeirdOne, hope you trademarked those Disney charachter stick figures, otherwise I think Disney might steal them and start putting them on a line of t-shirts, :animwink:  J/K

Thanks. It took me half and hour to really think of those and create the idea I wanted in drawings.

R.M.S Hyperion is is. But, the tapestry can still be a giant Discovery Bay aerial panorama view right? Witht he R.M.S Hyperion in the middle? Sound good?

Don't worry, I got sidetracked too with my EPCOT25 project since Jake left the group so to speak. SUCKS! Anyways, I will be getting a job soon, so I see SOJI well, slowing down quite a bit unless members deciede to help out. It's not fair to have 2 guys doing all the work. I know Jake would love to help, but he can't get access to the SOJI forum. SAD! SAD!

I guess I should trademark them and use them as meet tee-shirts. - The WeirdOne :D

Sounds Good

Here as promised are the shadow windows:

Here are some brief descriptions of the shadow windows, the windows will still be large viewing windows but the blinds will be pulled, so the guests only see the shadows. This effect will be done as WeirdOne suggested by actually being a simple movie projection.

Each Shadow Window will have a preceding door with a plaque on it, informing the guests of the lab they are about ready to look into.

Door 1 Label: Culinary Laboratory

Shadow Scene 1:

A cable lowering an object that looks like a stove down into the center of the laboratory, there is the shadow of one of the workers guiding it down. After it is down several other people come by an start inspecting it, they seem to be pushing buttons, the person who was lowering it has pulled out a clip board and is checking off things. Then one of the people press a button and then presses it several more times, then they all start scratching their heads then the oven begins to shake and smoke billows out, then the person seemingly in charge gets a hammer and hits the oven and it works again, then the other people come back with a dolly and cart the oven off, then they all leave.

Door 2 Label: Robotic Laboratory

One by one five different people wheel in five different robots, they each have large tool boxes and begin to tinker with the robots adding new arms and attaching different gizomos, after doing this for several minutes, they start to activate them and stand there with a clipboard evaluating their functions, at picking up objects and making different things, the first and second seem to be doing well the third robot keeps dropping the objects it picks up so the person turns it off, and tinkers with it for a little bit then it is working again, the fourth one is fine, but the fifth one is taking extra work as the person is still working on it well after the other ones have begun testing finally after it is activated it picks up the person and holds them above the robot’s head and the robot starts to spin around, noticing this the other people rush over and try frantically to get him down, after a while they finally succeed, then the person tinkers with the fifth robot again and then they all finish the testing and wheel the robots out of the room.

Door 3 Label: Textiles Laboratory

There is a large sewing machine in the middle with a lot of giant spindles feeding into the machine. A person comes out and turns it on and it starts to work and it starts to make a rolls of fabric then the person hits a button and different spindles feed into the machine and after doing this for a while and changing the large spindles the lab coat of the person gets caught in the machine with out the person noticing the thread from their coat is being feed into the machine soon they do and they frantically shut off the machine then walk away shaking their head with only half a lab coat.

Door 4 Label: Super Duper Ultra Top Secret Laboratory

Here there is just a large metal box that people keep caring large gears and cogs into then there is hammering and they exit the box empty handed this process is just on a continual loop and at one point there is a hammer pound that sounds more like a crunch and then a yelp and the person comes out holding there hand.

Very good! I'm impressed. May I suggest for the first window possibly have the over explode out some gooey stuff. One scientist tastes it (like icing) and then they all give thumbs up and then wheel it away or something like that?I think we have the Great Contraption done, correct?

Well, we can check that off of our list and worry about the Hyperion Adventure since we are working the show, we need to also work the ride and the actual airship. LOL! - The WeirdOne :D

That all sounds good the first scene will now end as you described it,

Sure let's shift our efforts then onto the Hyperion Adventure

Just to re-cap that ride it will be essentially a large suspended dark ride with narrorator.

Let's get first thing first before that. We need to plan out the show building. Where is the ride in relation to the Hyperion ship and stage, restaurants, etc? I'll post some layouts after m job interview. - The WeirdOne :D

Okay sounds good

I'll let you post first since you have done the majority of work on the show, and therby have some idea of the space required. This factor I am still kinda vauge on so I'll let you lay the groundwork then I'll post some changes if needed.

Or if you could just give me some idea of how much backstage area and such will be needed I could get something up sooner.

I imagine this will have to be a near to life size replica of the hanger and the air ship to fit everything we want into it. I am really thinking as far a shopping goes that we really don't need anything in the Hyperion. We could have a large shop in the hanger building that HA could empty into, and that should do well.

Okay, here is my layout diagram. I know it is horribly bad, but I had a spare minute. Key word minute. So I decieded to do a quick drawing. The ship is in the middle, stage out front. Two ramps that go upto the ship on the sides that are like those old ocean liner ones. Um, show building out back. Since this is going to be big, I put some of the ride in the hanger to use the space in there for something, besides empty space and storage :p. - The WeirdOne :D

P.S. - Lemme know how to improve it, I don't like it very much.

That really looks preety good, the only thing I could find wrong with it, is that the back of the R.M.S. Hyperion Grill would back up to the show building and there would be windows that would be concealed as the viewing peice of a giant telescope and show different parts of the Hyperion Adventure. The problem being that with the layout you have there is no surface area to do this, however this problem could be resolved by changing the viewing method.

Rather I was thinking to actually put in the back of the restuarunt several Verne looking telescopes and at the "non-vewing" end would be covered by a long tube that would extend into the ceiling and supposedly out the top of the back of the Hyperion. Then by acutally conecting the piping and a mirror system to different parts of teh show building let the guests view it that way. This way may actually be easier, in that we could design the ride however we wanted and we can still show nicely intervaled parts of the ride.

Also I think you can hold off on the Grand Opening Ceromony until we get the land all done :animwink:

Sounds great, I just really didn't like how I designed the building. Somethings wrong IMHO. Something doesn't fit IMHO. I like the telescopes idea. - The WeirdOne :D

Well it would be alot easier if you could put a finger on what is wrong, lol

Here is something a drew up I think it is kinda similar to what you already have but I based it heavily off of the actual proposed designs.

That looks great. I guess you took the thing that was bugging me out because yours is prefect. I can't seem to really find eror, expect, some of that space in the Show Building might go towards "Show" storage for the live one. - The WeirdOne :D

If we use the "thin" areas on the sides of the Show Buidling for the show storage, we would leave ourselves with nicley shaped area for the ride, If you need only one side we coudl use the other as the begining of the queu or it could just be at the directly under the back of the R.M.S. Hyperion and fill out some of the less usable area.

We need mostly the right side and just a bit of the left side. The left side can also contai the 2nd entrance to the Hyperion for the show times when guests can't cross onto the stage. - The WeirdOne :D

So, now onto the ride. Let's start some planning.
