The only marketing that is effective for me is viral, but that's me.
Well...D23 was viral. The only problem is the product!:lookaroun:lol:

EPCOT was kind of too....sorta.

All the sets are enhanced with Christmas decorations, the music is a mix of "its a small world" and "jingle bells". Then you hit the finale room and the music is changed to "its a small world" and "Deck the Halls"

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vIs7AiZltRk (the best part is around the 8:00 mark leading into and exiting the transition room)

plus theres the lights on the facade along with the projection show every 15 mins (thank you Holiday Wishes for the music )
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3V8jSAFAfgY

To be fair in a way, the DL version of the spot uses HKDL's castle which has lights similar to MKs instead of DL's castle with snow and the spot lights which DL only got starting this summer(not that anyone would really notice). Also its DL's Main Street:)

But besides all that the commercial is just beautiful perfect for the holidays, though Im still a bigger fan of the Halloween Time one.

That's LOVELY!
I like it! One step closer to better advertising.

JOY TO THE SMALL WORLD!:lookaroun

Or at least the Disney World....:lookaroun

I like normal IASW as well, but there's something about the holiday version that makes it extra special. seeing it all decked out with the lights, christmas trees.. you can't celebrate Christmas without Jingle Shells and Mele Kalikimaka :D the last scene with Deck The Halls is really beautiful.

But it would ruin vacations here!:fork:

Honestly...I can't watch videos of HMH or SWH, they just make me angry/sad.

Once you get past the hodge podge of different park locales (and when will the Disney Parks branding stop? :brick:), it is a nice commercial, with an always timeless and meaningful message. :)

edit - sorry nemo, hadn't realized you already posted links a video :)

no worries:) have to agree though something about the holiday version I find myself standing in a long line for.

Ruining vacations is what DLR does best:ROFLOL:

Did anyone else see these fantastic set of Youtube videos for the MVMCP- http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7h8d0zOXi78&feature=channel

its set up like a book going through the offerings of the party, though I still think the offerings should be open to everyone all holiday season.

It's HarmonioUS, NOT HarmoniYOU.
Disney Parks Blog just posted this.....

Now, normally, I don't focus on such minutia for just one TV Spot...but...Wow!

Now ****THAT***** is good DISNEY Marketing. Not generic. Not cheesy. (OK, maybe a little, but in a good way. ;) ) Not too overdone. This is very heartfelt. Very emotional, and GREAT!...Not like all the corney and overused promotional spots we've seen from them in the past...Like the Nightastic one, from over the summer.

Definitely made me excited for my trip in December.

Nice job, Disney. Do more marketing like this.
:D

Its a trap!!

Those children will be enslaved by IASW dolls. Thats what the spot didn't show you. :lookaroun

Me too.

It's getting rave reviews on the Disney Parks Blog.

Well... it is the Disney Parks Blog. I have yet to read a negative post about anything Disney related on there. ;) In fact, your post about the IASW commercial being, "a bit cheesy (but in a good way)" is the harshest comment I've seen on that blog... :lookaroun

If you like the TV commercial, you should hear the Radio commercial... Same music.

I love how much of the commercial is Disneyland only it uses Cindy's Holiday castle... it's even Disneyland's mainstreet!

I meant that EVERYONE was commenting.....;) That place is usually a ghost town.

And yeah, VERY positive over there....I would love to change that...:lookaroun:lol:

Did I just break TBT?:lookaroun Sheesh.

Probably should continue to break it, as it's a bit dumb of a rule, anyway. :p

As I said in another post, rationally, celebrating Christmas prior to Thanksgiving is the way to go.

But they show the kids running around in front of DL's IASW, and then running to Cinderella's Castle.

They also show a ship flying through clouds piloted by little kids. Something tells me the ad isn't exactly grounded in reality. It's awesome, that's good enough for me.

I generally agree with this (I'd have several posts that I thought were innocuous not make the cut), there were a few in the Shanghai post that were negative in tone. I was surprised!

:fork: TBT, sir, is good ratrionale. One of our oldest, most American, and traditional Holidays. It deserves the limelight.:D

Shanghai? Yeah, they actually let me quote a guy and refute him!:lookaroun

So knowing now that its a small world, in Anaheim, Paris, Tokyo and Hong Kong will all have holiday overlays this year the ad makes perfect since to be a Disney Parks ad, I take back anything I said about the TV spot being dumb for a Disney Parks advertisement .:xmas:

It really is Joy to the Small World! except for Orlando:confused::cry::brick:

*sigh*

I wonder if they will ever wise up and start to bring the overlays here. I'm not a big fan of some of the others, but this looks great.

Or...will it ruin vacations?!?!?!?:lookaroun
