I don't think the ancient sky ride at Busch Gardens is that noisy. Why do we think this one will be?

Significantly larger vehicles.. significantly higher speeds. There is quite a bit of noise as a cabin gets accelerated to the line speed when it 'joins' the line and there is noise as they traverse the wheel sets on the towers. You have that happening in very close proximity to exposed guests here at IG.

The head clearance would need to cover kid on tall dads shoulders, and stupid vlogger on mates shoulders trying to hit the cabins. Doubtless it will do both.
What isn't clear is if there is enough room to stage the queue at park close, whilst letting everyone walking get past.

Im sure they are basing the idea of the queue size on the number of bus riders at park close for the resorts on the line. For all the crus that comes out of Epcot and the Studios, the bus lines aren't that long now...they just build due to a batch system and then get eaten in chunks as busses arrive and dispatch.

For a continuous load system like the gondolas, there isn't really a need for a large and winding maze. I made a rough estimate on the number of rooms at CBR, based on the estimated speed of the gondola and the expected average capacity of similar systems in use across the globe and was amazed that you could load almost the entirety of CBR guests (assuming 90% occupancy and 3 per room) within an hour. We know that's not a realistic scenario...there will be significant numbers of guests at the other parks, not at any park or whatever. A more realistic estimate would be about 15%-20% of the people at CBR (or any of the gondola hotels, actually) would be at Epcot on any given day...It would most likely be able to chew through that entire group for all the hotels on the line within 45 minutes, assuming everybody instantly rushes for the gondola and arrives at the same time. The natural spacing of people and their distribution in the park will serve as a strange virtual line in its own way...people watching the new evening show near Mexico will likely not even arrive at the line until well after those watching near the UK, etc...

I would guess the maximum queue they will need for the current system would only need to account for about 10-15 minutes worth of wait, just because people get there fast, some linger after hours, some leave early, etc...

A line of 45 minutes is pretty long and does take up some space.

It didn't sound like it was being said that there would be a 45 minute line. It said all of the people could be transported within
45 minutes. I think if you looked at the gondolas, as similar to going on Spaceship Earth. When it is working properly, even a
long line moves quickly as it will be loading and unloading continuously.

Exactly. The entire load would take about 45 minutes to load, but there is no reason or realistic situation where every single person that needs a ride on the Gondola would be instantaneously and simultaneously standing at the load station. They will filter in from different parts of the park at different times and the line formation will be spread out over a significant time. Its not like the first person in line will just stand and wait for the last person to get in the line.

Look at how the bus lines work...you get maybe 100 in line at park close to make that first bus and people just trickle in after that. The only reason those initial people back up is because there isn't a constant stream of busses arriving to clear the queue. With the Gondola, they will be able to address the capacity of a bus every minute and a fifteen seconds...

And with no fast-passes, the line will be moving continuously

Wow, now it seems that innocent people that just happen to be walking under the gondola's will now go deaf from the noise, but, just after they will be probably get hit in the head by a flaming, semi-melting cabin when they look up to see where the noise came from. OMG, is there no end to the carnage that this seemingly gentle mode of transportation is capable of delivering. :jawdrop:

This lines up a bit more with what I was saying, about if the wall on the left were to continue straight and not turn to the left and back to the right, that would be about where the garden would end. I think a better judgment would also be whether or not the cabins and the artwork are proper scale.
