So anyone know why no gondolas are on the Epcot line yet?

It's the most complex line so is likely the last one to have everything ready for testing. We saw them testing the cars in the stations a few weeks ago, an now it's being reported that the cable is running, so they are progressing along the steps that need to happen just like the other two lines did.

So... can we say that the rumor that the announced Fall opening of the Skyliner being so seemingly late is because there is a manufacturing delay in producing the gondolas is definitely false?

It's true. Those are actually the new ovens that will be installed throughout the resort. They're just using them right now to cover up the fact that they are behind in manufacturing the gondolas because after all there's not much difference between a gondola and a oven...

Can we? How do we know they didn't start later than planned while they waited for the first batch of gondolas? Your post infers that because the gondolas are all here NOW.. that's the date that matters. Project Managers know managing delays is about cascading dependencies.. so its when things happen in the sequence that matters.. not just having everything present before the end.

They kinda showed up when the ropes were ready for them, not months later with half the order still missing.

Ummm... so to answer your question... eyes?

Exactly. Without knowing the original schedule, we have no way of knowing if there was an actual delay.

And again... you're just looking at a different piece without being able to know why one started at a time or not. We don't have the insight to really make a claim one way or another. All we do know is their cadance is wayyyy slower than other similar projects.

Maybe they let the date to get the ropes ready slip because they knew they wouldn't have the cars in time. Again, without knowing the original schedule we can't tell if there were delays or not.

Except our insiders held out the possibility of April/May testing with an opening a month later.

So... the timeline ain't off by much.

@Lift Blog did confirm that other sites where seeing manufacturing delays on their projects.
That is true and at the time it made sense. There must’ve been a period where this was the thought and then production picked up and was able to meet the demand Disney had. I’d be interested if other projects elsewhere were still delayed while Disney got their cabins.

It's entirely possible to have more combinations...

Like a component delay... AND on top of that.. another executive decision to open later to align with other things. Either alone, or together, can have what looks like the same outcome. This is why you can't leap to conclusions with only seeing part of the picture.
