There are floor to ceiling windows. Disney just chose to cover parts of them with graphics.
Yes, in the La Paz Omega IV cabins you can look out between the bench backs and seats on the ends, and the side window and doors are clear almost down to the floor.

I mentioned people staring at their personal devices instead of being interested in backstage areas of Epcot. I doubt there will be installed screens.

Also, pretty sure Disney announced "some" gondola will have graphics. That explains the plain one seen today.

My theory is the graphics are to calm nerves of people who might have some fear of riding especially children.

I wonder why the choice to only put graphics on some of them. Is it just about the cost, or is there another reason.

Looking at these, it looks like it's going to be very difficult to clean the glass, inside and out. With all the different panels, the mesh screen, the opening mechanism, etc.... And, with so many cabins (and so many little kid fingers), that could be a full time job cleaning the glass!

They'll just slacken the rope as they go over Hourglass Lake and let nature takes its course.

But sticky fingers can't get to the glass behind the screens.

Disney will probably allocate the resources to keep them clean for the first year or so, and then as budget-cutting mandates come down from management, they'll cut back to a 1-minute once-over once a week (or month).

So now that SW:GE's opening has been revealed to be in late August, is it at all possible that Disney will attempt to officially open the Skyliner (or even MMRR) before "Fall" to accommodate the crowds?

I’m expecting the current running cars to be removed and reinstalled before opening to guests.

Decals could be applied to them all when they’re in storage.

Yes, but it doesn't seem like that was originally the plan. From the Disney Parks Blog article...

"And select gondolas will have iconic Disney characters incorporated into their exterior design"

In lieu of today's announcements, I wonder when they're planning on actually opening these bad boys now. If "Late Fall" is August, then who knows what "Fall" is for the Skyliner. Some time before August 29th I guess.
