News New Gondola Transportation - Disney Skyliner -

The rumor is that the AKL-AKL-BB-All Star corridor would get something down the line. A new light rail line has been rumored for an application on property, but never a specific location. Light rail would almost cost as much as monorail expansion, provide capacity similar to the busses and have to interact with existing traffic. Honestly, electric buses and ADA complaint bus stop entry would be a better option than light rail.

Would anyone like me to make the case for why Monorails are still the best option for WDW?

I could imagine some further applications for gondolas on property. For instance AKL to DAK.

And nothing says a gondola has to be a certain height. Although in such a scenario you would want the gondola to be at least as high as the tallest giraffe.

Because Disney would do such a good job maintaining over a half dozen forms/classes of transportation. Nor would that system not be confusing to the public.

they do now, so what difference does it make?

Currently, WDW manages: Monorails, Trains, Trams, Busses, Minivan, two ferry boats, a fleet of small launch boats and a fleet of friendship boats.

Basically, we are adding two...the gondola and the "rumored one", while curtailing use of the largest, the bus, at locations being served by the new systems.

Don't forget, they have a few cruise ships as well; I know they're not maintained by the same people but still falls under the Disney umbrella
