I could see that happening, but not for a system being built this year.

I could see it as a way for politicians to see it in use as a form of transportation. It could happen as research or just someone on vacation that realizes they could use this in their city.

There is a lot of chain link fencing up at Caribbean with vegetation ripped up and sidewalks walled off in the Jamaica and Aruba areas beneath the Skyliner.

Any insiders know why?

We are scheduled to be in Jamaica 45 with 44 rooms in mid April and am worried it’s a mess.

Reinforcement of irrigation lines, for when heavy equipment may need to pass through during evacuation

Plus the politicians would have to make several trips to WDW on "fact-finding missions" to research the system. I could see this form of urban transit becoming very popular. Or at least the study of it. Lol

Speed is indeed 11 mph on the runs. Wait times are aiming for worst case five minutes-ish. Longest travel time on a single line is around 15 minutes.

Asthetics aside it should beat all existing comparable transport methods by a good margin.
I wonder if the Monorail from the TTC to Epcot will be put out of business because of this?

There is a blended approach being taken for connecting resorts...As of now, there are no plans for Gondola Expansion, but there are plans for future (10-20 years) for another mass transit system that isn't a monorail either.
Because Disney would do such a good job maintaining over a half dozen forms/classes of transportation. Nor would that system not be confusing to the public.

What other kind is there? Peoplemover type system? Drone-based human transport?
Whatever happened to the Mark VIII monorails that were supposedly on order from Bombardier?

The rumor is that the AKL-AKL-BB-All Star corridor would get something down the line. A new light rail line has been rumored for an application on property, but never a specific location. Light rail would almost cost as much as monorail expansion, provide capacity similar to the busses and have to interact with existing traffic. Honestly, electric buses and ADA complaint bus stop entry would be a better option than light rail.

Would anyone like me to make the case for why Monorails are still the best option for WDW?
