There will be in theory enough capacity to cope. It’s not been not looked at.

A double negative? Silly question, since I have never entered through that end of the park, but is that entrance
opened, when the lower section of the park opens? The World Showcase usually opens about 2 hours later, right?

Guests can enter that way as early as the main entrance. Any parts of WS guests are not supposed to go into are roped off until 11 AM and guests are directed to parts of WS that are open or FW.

Yes. It opens at the same time. You can walk through via U.K. and Canada to FW. Or visit Les Halles in France for breakfast first.

I was still hoping the security would be at the resorts before boarding the gondolas.

I’m sure it has been looked at. But still, you have 3 of the biggest resorts adding to the 5 Epcot resorts. It seems to me like they are seriously under-estimating how many people at POP, AoA and CBR will arrive for rope drop.

However I can also see that whilst the IG would be relatively simple to alter to accommodate a separation between those arriving by gondola and those on foot, at DHS it’s much more problematic. And I suspect that’s the reason they’ve decided against resort security checks.

And I feel just the opposite. I think that this group is seriously over-estimating the number of people that will be going to Epcot on a daily basis. Yes, there are a lot of people combined in the Gondola resorts, but, they are not all going to Epcot. There are 3 other parks to go to beside Epcot. Not everyone goes at rope drop and they will all be evenly spaced out on the line. Right now a bus with 60 people unloads and everyone marches into the park at the same time. We already know that the majority go to MK. So there are a lot of those people that will not be a factor. It will be fine. Besides you get to come in right in the middle of Epcot. Most of the day you will be able to go in and go to World Showcase or turn the other way and go to Future World. Most coming back will be staggered, but, there might be minor hold ups at closing, but, again only the ones that are going the the Gondola resorts, however, there will be no bag check at that time. I'm sure they have done the math, and if they haven't it will be simple to just add more security people. I'd worry more about what point it will be that due to the constant price increases none of us will be able to afford the place anyway.

I did a double-take on this picture, I though they put the tower on top of that building!

He used a double negative. Meaning they looked at it but thought it would be fine.
Or reading too much into it, they looked at it and couldn't convince themselves that there was a high enough probability that there was going to be a problem. Because of this they couldn't justify investing money to build more capacity to ensure that no problems would develop. They decided to "see what happens" and to fix any problems that develop. Akin to the unshaded queue for Slinky Dog, the general lack of shade in TSL, and the lack of seating and shade for Andy's Lunchbox. "Maybe we'll get lucky and people won't mind?"

In my experience, that's typically why people who know it's poor form to use a double negative use a double negative. [edit for clarification: that's why I think @marni1971 is using the double negative with a sly wink, but with a tear in his eye]

I worked IG as a park greeter a few times. That gate even before park open only uses maybe 50% of its capacity and if they use the exit, which has touch points, they could absorb just as many guest entries as the front of the park (mid day). It has 2 v's (4 touch points each) with an additional 4 touch points at the exit. The hangup will be security screenings but they have room to move that forward fairly easily if needed.
