So they're going to have to order new ones in about 10 years.... Interesting... Cheaper than new monorails?
I imagine the cost of even a single monorail loop direct from IG to HS would be notably more expensive than the entire gondola system, even if they replace the cabins in 10-15 years.

I didn't say Disney would replace the cabins after 10-15 years. Rather the product cycle when a new model comes out is typically 12 years. Disney is getting the outgoing model and can keep gondolas in service as long as it chooses. CWA continues supporting older models with spare parts and will even build new copies of retired cabins for the right price.

Do you think the cabins are able to be manufactured by Disney on-property? Obviously they're not doing the first batch, but repair and rebuilds have to be done in Central Shops, right?

Now, that's scary. It's one thing to travel 50' above the ground in a vehicle made by companies that have decades of experience building them; it's something else to be in a vehicle built one-off by a company renowned for cost-cutting.

Ever ride any of the rides at Disney? They do the maintenance on all the ride vehicles including repairs and replacements of key parts.

I thought Disney had pretty much stopped making their own animatronics ?
To be honest I was just guessing because when I go to look for that information it is no where to be found since Disney likes to keep some vendors secret. I read they used this one particular company back in the day but I don't think it exists anymore so with the Central Shops being able to build things why not take advantage of the workers talents.
