The Pop/AoA gondola station. The structure next to the station looks like the beginning work to build the queue, which, according to the artist's concept, will have a swooping wave shape...
the liftoff from the water would look awesome.

so bad the lifts are not themed. Imagine if they were themed to Wall-e or Peter Pan's ride.

I haven't read the whole thread, but would be interested if any one had any information about how the U.S. steel tariffs may be impacting on the costs of the gondola project, given the amount of steel that is going into this infrastructure project. Are major cost over-runs likely on the gondola infrastructure, given that the project was conceived before tariffs were introduced?
Not at all. This project was bought and paid for long before the tariffs went into effect.
Another reason is these lifts came almost entirely from Austria and Switzerland as finished products, not raw steel. Although Doppelmayr operates production facilities in both the US and Canada, they do not produce D-Line components yet.

The tariffs are certainly impacting both lift manufacturers going forward. I think particularly Doppelmayr's competitor which manufactures in Colorado and Utah for the US/Canada/Australia/New Zealand markets and now has to pay much more for steel and aluminum. Doppelmayr tends to manufacture all over the world and may well be rewarded for not building as much in the US and importing ski lifts rather than steel.

More from this Jim Hill guy:
-no A/C but actually just air circulation (maybe someone saw AC in the specs referring to an AC motor and assumed A/C.)
-speed 17 miles per hour, not 16 (D-Line stated max is 15.7)
-longest leg 3.5-4 minutes

While Jim gets the initial jump on a rumor, the entirety of the rumor is pretty rough. Martin, Visionary, Magic Feather, and the others here are much more reliable. And remember, Jim is the one that kept claiming there was going to be a/c up until literally now even when every source said otherwise for months.

Martin did say 11Mph for the speed. And air circulation? That's still need power and at that point, why wouldn't you just have a/c? (I'm dumb, ignore that)

He did say that. I'm giving an alternate explanation because I'm skeptical. Anyone ever play telephone?
Telephone and salt seem to be key to Jim Hill. It seems he gets a lot of information that is from someone vaguely familiar with something who is trying to seem (or should be) more knowledgeable and this results in a lot of details or logical thought processes becoming qcompletely bungled.
