Since you just joined... feel free to revisit the posts in this thread using the search feature.. instead of beating a dead horse.
I'm left with using google to get me page results since the search here continuously just gives a snippet of each post and can't find the page on click. I can see people saying the capacitors aren't doing the job but can't see any further information or corroboration that may have come earlier

Search results give two links for every hit... the top link is the bolded title of the thread. Click on it, and it will take you directly to the post.

It looks like a change of topic would be welcomed, so here's one: I accidentally bumped into a MickeyViews/Brayden video posted yesterday. I'm not a fan, but I couldn't resist watching because the title mentioned this project.
He's throwing an opening date of late 2019 out there based on "an insider source with knowledge on the project", in time for the holiday season next year. I trust @marni1971's 12-15 month timeline to completion, so are there any potential reasons why they may want to hold off opening until the end of the year?

I'm supposed to book CBR for late 2019 tonight or tomorrow, but the gamble on opening dates is driving me mad :hungover:. I can just imagine the gondolas, the space restaurant, Mickey's movie ride, and SWL opening the day after we check out.

ETA the video.

Late 2019 would cover September or October, wouldn't it?

Maybe you'll have better luck than I. This is one example:
https://forums.wdwmagic.com/threadloom/posts/7970304

When I go to the listed date to click on the anchor link for that post, I would get:
https://forums.wdwmagic.com/threads...-disney-skyliner.924477/page-332#post-7970304

Just goto menu bar, search drop down opens... change dropdown to 'this thread' enter your term, hit search. Click on first link in each search result. There are only two links in each search result... the forum, and a link directly to the post.

It could mean anything up until New Year's Eve, couldn't it? Anyway, I'm mostly curious to know why they may want to hold off opening the gondalas if they're ready to go in July or so.

Because it's cooler in December. Sounds like another clue that there's no A/C.

This is exactly what I did and it wasn't working. The first link I gave was from doing just that. The search page looked broken as hell too.

A 448 page thread has all sorts of dead beaten horses, so I will try to say what I was saying a different way.
I will believe there is no air conditioning when they either announce it isn't there or I get on one and there is none. The technology exists even if it is expensive and if they put electricity in the support posts you wouldn't have to wait until you hit a station for additional power. This is not me telling other people their local information dealer isn't right, their sources are trash, or that they are wrong. I will have no problem admitting i'm wrong if there is no A/C when all is said and done, and welcome the parade of "I told you so" when/if that day comes.

I could see Q4 2019, so that they can work out any kinks in the system before the hot summer months. But given the work that's been done already, I'd imagine that means the pace of construction would have to slow to a crawl. And do they really want to start running the gondolas for the first time around the same time as SW:GE opens? That doesn't sound very logical at all. I'm guessing early 2019 myself, and I have no inside knowledge whatsoever. Hey, maybe I should start a vlog!!! ;)

Except when you chose to ignore qualified sources... that is in effect what you are doing by repeating yourself and crossing your arms with "I'll believe it when I see it". I don't suggest holding your breath :)

The search results do not give you the same perm link to a post like you expected to see. This temp/search link was broken about a month ago, but was fixed.. you may try a different browser or something (prior it would break when trying to open in new tab.. but would work within the existing session - but works now at least in Chrome).

Until they definitively state in public that there is no air conditioning on these gondolas I won't believe it. The Emirates Air Line in London, with a slightly cooler climate, also built by Doppelmayr, has air conditioning.

Totally off topic, but my daughter was a HUGE Danger Mouse fan - her second Halloween costume was as "Shot Mouse" which is how she pronounced it at age 2.

I had to look up what this machine is since I have never seen one of these. Normally sheet pilings are installed using a device on the end of a crane that vibrates the pile into the ground. The downside of this is that it is very noisy. This machine connects to the piles already in the ground and then presses the next one into place which creates a lot less noise.
