Any reasons why they didnt linked the Disney Boardwalk's corner to Disney MGM's station?
Because that would require building a whole new line with larger stations at DHS and Boardwalk, and this system is focused on getting people from resorts to parks and not from park to park.
If the hub were at the Boardwalk, at park closing everyone leaving DHS plus everyone leaving Epcot would be traveling between BW & Riviera, and the reverse in the morning, which would create a bottleneck reducing system capacity. As it is now, Guests traveling to DHS are traveling opposite to those traveling to Epcot.
That map is out of date, the POP/AOA line station is off the bridge in the middle of hourglass lake.

Right, I wasn't paying attention to the one posted.
The maps are bit off. The Pop/AoA station is on Generation Gap Bridge...

So wait, if you are going to Epcot do you board at that major change station and then just stay on the Gondola at each station you pass through?
If you board at CBR (Caribbean Beach 'major change station') toward Epcot, you stay on as you pass through the Riviera guest station even though the doors will open there (you may even pick up extra passengers along the way). When you get to the Boardwalk turn station, everyone stays on because the doors don't open because it's just a turn station. Then you get to the IG guest station and get off.
If you start at Pop/AoA, you get off at the CBR guest station and board the Epcot line, then GOTO Paragraph #1.

It would depend on where you are boarding from. But if you board at the transfer station at CBR, Then yes you would just stay on until you got to Epcot. The only station you would pass through would be Riviera.

Everyone gets off and back on at the CB main terminal where the 3 lines converge.
Riders will pass through Riviera without disembarking.
There has been testing around the IG area.

Is there a scenario where tons of full gondolas come through Riviera during peak time making it challenging / a longer wait for those guests to get on?

is that a 2,000-50,000mm 35mm equivalent?
They'll likely send empty ones on a regular basis. They can radio CBR/IG if things back up to increase the number of empty ones.
I was going to ask this. Since Riviera is a "deluxe" resort, do guests get some sort of priority or increased availability of the gondolas over Caribbean Beach?
