Indeed. The pit is staying, because a new pump house is going back in that same spot, for the new water features.

I didn't take pics of my 'wittle Spirit in the Columbia Harbor House restrooms that have ALWAYS been there (even if some people haven't noticed).
But you are sounding like one of my 'fans' here ...

There is going to be a waterfall that comes down the hill behind the southern of the two new restroom buildings. The hill is what will mask the HM show building, and will taper down to the southwest, and will follow the new path behind Yankee Trader to the HM courtyard.
The waterfall will go into a little creek that will trickle by the restroom building, under a bridge on the new path, and into a little pond. The pond with be situated about 20' southwest of where the pump house sits now, and the water will be recirculated up to the waterfall using the new pump house.
There will also be a few landscape islands with mounds and small boulders in the plaza area outside the restrooms. Some of them will be where the Small World queue is winding outdoors in those photos someone linked to above.

Ugh, my little happy quiet little place in Fantasyland (God that sounds wrong ) is completely demolished, clock tower and all.
Only to be replaced by more bathrooms the spirit can check out. :hurl:

I go into Columbia Harbor House like once every 5 years, I just thought that the only bathrooms were the ones upstairs.

I have not seen any architectural plans for this area, just site plans. I'll keep digging. Perhaps someone else on here might have come across one.

Here is a thread from last year that describes what was going to be done with the area along with a site plan. Not sure how accurate this is anymore.

All that's been seen are the site plans, which is what the graphics in that thread show. Since this project is affecting some serious storm water drainage, once these plans went through the Drainage Board, they're unlikely to change.
My guess is that this project will proceed as originally planned. Granted, the architecture can change 50 times with no repercussions, but the layout can't. They will still build two restroom buildings, and have the new path to the HM.
