New FL Restrooms / Walkway

I'm worried that there may be traffic congestion with new FL RR at old Skyway Station because line for IASM often extends down along the wall in front of old Skyway station. During our last visit, DD got yelled at by IASM crowd line because she was waiting on the wall behind them while her parents used the restrooms below PP. Hope they can resolve the inevitable collision/confusion.

Those buildings used to house the magic shop, I doubt they will ever serve any purpose again.

Which building are you talking about?

The only magic shops in the MK that I can recall were the House of Magic on Main Street and Merlin's Magic Shop in Fantasyland.

I thought someone posted that it was supposed to be a 2 month window.

It takes construction workers two months to dig a hole. I'll be shocked if this is done before summer.

Perhaps the demolition was slated for the 2-month window. There's no way the entire restroom/path project could be done in 2 months, even if they worked 24/7.

I predict it will complete by this fall, MAYBE opening during the summer. There's a lot of work to be done.

The building right to the left before the gates of the Mansion, where the old Keelboat dock is, used to be a tiny magic shop called Ichabod's Landing. I remember it well, seeing all the invisible dogs hanging on a rack!

I would say more like fall. There is a lot of rockwork and water features planned for this area by the looks of the DWG's. I haven't seen any pics in a few weeks, but it looks like they are still moving at a snails pace.

I wounder if the HM FP canopy will be removed to help with guest flow. That thing kind of sitcks out like a sore thumb when you look from overhead. When this is done I really think this will hurt traffic flow between the Yankee Trader and the old Keel Boat dock. It will become a bottleneck. However the bathrooms will be a great addition and lets hope they add some more capacity than the ones they are replacing.

Thank you.

It wasn't so much a full service magic shop like the other two were -- it did have the invisible dogs, monster masks, and a lot of the smaller novelties (vampire teeth, fake scars & blood). Obviously, it had all the same types of HM stuff that the main street shop used to carry, too. It didn't really stock the magic tricks & props, tho.

i used to love the noveltys they sold there, i bought a glow in the dark wall plaque, it was awesome. even on main street the magic tricks were made better. and the noveltys back then were actually made better. now everything looks like it was made in bulk plastic quantity

Yeah, fall is far more realistic. There is far too much existing work in place still. They can't even start new work yet - unless there are better photos I haven't seen.

The HM FP canopy is fairly substantial. I imagine it will stay. But really, I think the new path will HELP traffic flow, which is the intent. Right now, the HM corridor is a dead end (no pun intended). This new path will allow people to come and go from the north, and relieve congestion a bit.

I'm surprised the new bathrooms are replacing a store based on a ride not even at the parks anymore. I thought they would be near where the Dumbo ride was, as I had guessed in an earlier thread.

The bathrooms are going where the old Fantasyland Skyway station was near It's a Small World. There is and was no store in this location. The store and ride that is being discussed is near the entrance to the Haunted Mansion queue right on the Rivers of America in Liberty Square.
