So you're saying that they thoroughly inspected the meeting roomI can assure you that a huge amount of budget is wasted (used) on copious amounts of onsite inspections and meetings.

Thank you for providing the photos. I agree. It is simply not practical.Old… and then two new
Disney pays plenty for their projects.I don't think it's outsourcing either that's the problem. Disney gives the outsourcer a budget to use and they are restricted on what they can do and stay in budget. The theming that we all want, and what Disney should have, cost money. It's obvious Disney does not want to pay for it anymore.
The beige carpet on the other hand is not a Budget error, but more than likely the designer did not realize that that stairwell is so heavily used that the carpet will get destroyed quickly. There again, maybe it is a budget issue. The designers should have done a walk-through of the hotel before they started the makeover and should have realized how much traffic both steps. See. Maybe there was no budget for an on-site inspection.
See! They are even cutting flowers from the carpet!!!!!Old… and then two new
Then where is the money going? It sure isn't being used to purchase one of a kind items that give the Hotel it's theme. Has the cost of the items in the Hotel decorating catalogs that Marriott uses gone up that much?Disney pays plenty for their projects.
Maybe they are paying "plenty" to third party vendors who are outsourcing the design work.....Disney pays plenty for their projects.
That’s how most of the resorts came to be. Including Boardwalk originally.Maybe they are paying "plenty" to third party vendors who are outsourcing the design work.....
Wasn't Imagineering overseeing them at design time? I believe Disney Legend Wing Chao was deeply involved in these hotels. Is Imagineering still involved during refurbs? That’s how most of the resorts came to be. Including Boardwalk originally.
Imagineering or DDC before 1996 oversaw their design and construction. But most of the actual architecture, engineering, and interior/exterior design was handled by outside vendors and design firms.Wasn't Imagineering overseeing them at design time? If true, why are they taking theming out of every hotel and making them more generic?Imagineering or DDC before 1996 oversaw their design and construction. But most of the actual architecture, engineering, and interior/exterior design was handled by outside vendors and design firms.
Imagineering is still involved in a similar capacity.
Also, they deliberately turned on the lights on the shuttered booths (and kept Atlantic Dance Hall closed an extra night for some reason!) to make things look better for the execs. Meanwhile, Cake Bake Shop has had absolutely no progress since the last photo. UnrealThe Lady and the Tramp topiary has been removed. Was informed by cast that it was only brought out to "plus" the area because the execs were there. How pathetic. Mickey and Minnie also removed from Yacht Club. Again, how pathetic. You're only fooling yourself.
