New DHS Logo and info.

Aside from the odd alignment, I really like the new logo. I love the gold trim and the fact that Clipboard Mickey is still there (and in this logo, he actually look to be a part of it, not just inserted in) and I love the "Hollywood" font. Definitely grasps the classiness and glamor of the Golden Age of Hollywood. I think a better alignment though would have been this:

Thank you! I'm glad I'm not the only one. I think that alignment is MUCH better and looks perfect.

I like the new logo. Thank God its Mickey and not stitch, or who knows what.

The colors, the font, everything works. Even has somehow a classic touch of MGM in it. :drevil:

Atleast the hat is not in the new logo!

And yet DCA is getting this makeover into a glamorous dream of hollywood and california....that was the intent of Disney/MGM ....the hollywood that never was, but always will be.

I can't believe the BAH is still blocking the view of the Chinese Theatre. The real theatre sits off a busy, dirty street.

The dream of hollywood, has a chinese theatre at the end of hollywood boulevard.

All they have to do is move the water tower to more prominent part of the park. Heck, even outside the ticket booths on that big circular flower bed. The watertower used to be the icon and represented the old watertowers of the hollywood of yesteryear.

The BAH is nothing more than a symbol from just one movie, and two characters that wore the hat. The "oh it's Mickey's magic" is utter BS.

The Imagineers created this beautiful hollywood boulevard, and it gets blasted away by the BAH.

Ok enough hat bashing, ummm yes the logo looks good.

I must admit, the new logo does have a touch of Hollywood glamor to it. I kind of like it! Why I think that the new logo works is because if and when Disney decides to drop the Hollywood the logo will look great. I think that with time the park will change its name again to just the Disney Studios, as I think it should be anyhow. Disney's Hollywood Studios does not flow off the tongue that well.

I thought I remember reading somewhere that the plan was eventually to drop the "Studios" (since it's not a studio anymore anyway) once there is more of a "Hollywood of the past" feel to it.

The change is supposedly going to be completed by mid-January according to reports I've read. I don't think anything is going to go up until '08 though, so it'll be a busy 2-3 weeks.

I like it! It definitely has a classic "Hollywood" feel.

I also agree with whoever was saying that Donald Duck was conspicuous by his absence. Why can't you find decent DD stuff anywhere that's not so angry?

Here's my vote: a big thumbs up on the logo! The Art Deco lettering is totally appropriate for use here. If anyone suggests "that (type of) font is too commonly used in logos," well, that is because that (type of) font was too commonly used during the golden age of Hollywood. So it's perfect. As for the justification right instead of center: a disgruntled Disney artist had the Chinese Theater on the right, so they had to cover it up!!!:animwink:

ooh nooo, I don't like it. The alignment doesn't work for me, and the negative kerning on Hollywood doesn't look too good either :s
it's very "meh" to me
well, I think if they sorted those two things out, I'd like it lol.. other than that, I do like the font they've used :) and the fact Mickey's in there haha

Oh great, my tutor's turned me into a Graphics snob :'(

I'm going to have to be one of those people to go out on a limb and say MGM/DHS is one of my family/my favorite parks. When we went to WDW this past April We stayed for seven days, we spent three at MK, two at MGM/DHS, one and a half days at Epcot and half a day at AK. I would have spent more time at Epcot if it were just me, but my family didn't agree. AK seems to me to be the park that is a half day park, maybe a day at the most.

I also love MGM! Probably tied with MK as my favorite park! I spent a full day there about a month ago when the park was empty and still had things I didn't get done! And by empty I mean ToT only had a 5 minute wait and I only did it once, and RnR was still under Refurb!

But the new logo is nice. I did like the edited alignment version better though. I also think it would really lose alot of what the park is about if they took the "hollywood" out of the title. After a few more additions/changes...some new attractions and whatnot that will make the park feel new again, I'd be happy to call it Hollywood Studios!

I agree that the only problem is the orientation. I like the centered version, and I think a one-line version would look very nice (with Disney's centered over the left top or center). Otherwise, the font and color works quite well.

I don't really like the fact that "STUDIOS" is emphasized. I think it's misleading. Gives the connotation to the common folk that there are probably active studios there.

"Mommy, which park should we choose to go to?"

"Hmmm... How about this one, Tommy? Disney's Hollywood Studios. Maybe they're taping some Disney Channel shows we can see!!"

Someone start a poll!

Not a bad idea.

I think the logo is fine. It's not amazing, but it's not bad.

Though it is my least favorite park, I always have fun at DHS. I have been pretty hard on the park in the past but trust that things will get better and good things will come.
