I kinda like it, too. And, like others, I'm glad that it's actually Mickey in there and not Pooh, a Pirate, or some stupid Pixar character.

Seeing the larger version that Steve posted, I have to say I like it. IMO, the gold surrounding the black font brings back a suggestion of Old Hollywood glamour.

Did people REALLY think that someone other than Mickey would be in a park logo?!?!?!? Common now... I'm hoping those are all jokes...

I agree. I like it a lot. I think it really represents what the park is/should be about. Its great to see Mickey featured in a logo. After all, it was all started by a mouse. :)

it looks like an old logo to me, like it was released in the 90s or something, i do like the idea of using the O'S as a hidden mickey(very clever whoever posted that), I think that wouldve definitly "disneyfied" it, but who cares tho, as long as they add more rides and make it a full day park worth ACTUALLY STAYING THERE THE WHOLE DAY they can call it "eisner's rushed mistake" for all i care, just as long as the park is up to par wit the others
Yeah -- I guess "Disney's Half-Day Studios" was dropped pretty early in the name brainstorming sessions.

A family can EASILY spend an entire day there, with quality attractions like the ammended sort-of backlot tour, the fake animation studio, drew carey's excuse for teens to make-out in the dark, it's the perfect park!

Adding in: the larger-resolution logo comes across a bit better. Maybe it just doesn't translate as well in a smaller size. I'll upgrade my rating to a "yeeehhhheheh (with flip flopping hand motion)" on my scale.

Which, by the way, goes...
"gag - yuck - fooey - meh - yehehheheh (with flip flopping hand motion) - nice - awesome - w00t"
... in case you're wondering.

That is the best thing I've heard in a long time! :D I think everyone here should use it.

As for the logo I say it's between meh and fooey, the older one was nicer (with Mickey in front of Leo the MGM lion) and Disney's Hollywood Studios still sounds too temporary. How about Disney's-Dead Movie Company-Half Day-Confusingly Themed-Pixar Like, but it's still got Tower of Terror Studios.

I kinda like it. Will be intersting to see if they repaint the entrance to remove that "babyish" blue to fit the style of the new logo.

I think it will work well - with all the talk of the direction the DHS is going.

Almost sounds like DHS is the east coast version of DCA makeover - minus the (and you have to say this in your Dr. Evil voice) 1 BILLION Dollars.

Ditto for me. I could do without "Hollywood" in the name. Should just be Disney Studios if you ask me (my two cents). I really like that they used Mickey in it.

I like the new logo, reminds me of the original logo with MGM's Leo. I have to say I prefer DHS over Disney/Pixar Studios.

The baby blue entrance is a recreation (down to the color) of the Pan Pacific Auditorium entrance. The auditorium is a famous LA landmark that burned down shortly after MGM opened. This same entrance is going to be the model for DCA's new entrance.

Anyway, don't look for the entrace to be changed. Look for the DHS letters to be spelled out in simple red letters like the MGM logo currently is.

Of which I still don't get - now that Pixar is now part of Disney.

That would be like...we like our names so much - lets name the park after two different departments. :hammer:
