On the bright side, April 20th is just a couple of days away.

Maybe Disney will release more information on either April 19th or the 20th. Their past communication stated that they would not know whether someone whose tri began on May 20th or laterwas getting DAS until May 20th but that poofed so 🤷🏻‍♀️.

Orlando as a whole has.... but I'm going to wait to see what happens in the summer.

People keep thinking I'm crazy when I say the Jan-Mar period is busier than the summer months lol
Because over and over online it was recommended to go during previously slow periods, and so now those are no longer slow periods.

Yes, the part that stated Disney would not be able to say if someone qualified for DAS until May 20th - this was for those whose trips begin May 20th on - unless the reason Disney removed the paragraph is because this will change. 🤪

It was after this part that still remains:

Hopefully they think something else up fast.

The insanity of the original plan should have been immediately obvious.

Hey, let’s not tell anyone what the new rules are until May 20th. Let’s also roll this out on May 20th AND let’s not let anyone register for any trip that starts on May 20th until… May 20th.

The 100% result of that would be every single person seeking DAS for a trip between May 20th and June 20th would all call in on exactly May 20th.

If they are rolling out the new rules on May 20th they shouldn’t go in effect until June 20th IMO.

IMO, Disney took it down because people were freaking out. The company will probably post new information on April 19th or 20th - I hope.
My call is next week and I hope I can get through!

Perhaps. It all depends on how rigid they stick to the DAS guardrails. How stringent are they on cracking down on specious developmental disability claims? How rigid are they with the “only” developmental disabilities get DAS (do they really withhold from those with extreme physical disabilities?)

Basically, if they reduce DAS usage by, say, 25% from what it is now (scammers and those who can be accommodated differently), will that really result in that much more of an enticing G+ experience?

It’s almost as if this DAS change had to happen before the Genie+ changes.

Pretty sure suggesting someone read 159 pages of a thread is not very sensible or reasonable. If the poster has already answered, they can simply respond with a link to the response. That isn't very difficult and seems pretty reasonable in a case of a thread with 159 pages.
So you're unable to spend hours reading this thread like the rest of us. Or do you just not want to? What if we let you borrow a screen reader and you could listen to a transcript instead? This is the essence of the entire thread

I question the logic of this argument - that this is a pure money grab for more G+ - which people keep raising.

As it stands, G+ infrequently sells out. Some have estimated it’s only sold out 5% of the days since its introduction. The variable price certainly shifts that daily calculus, but the demand is hardly ever exceeding the supply.

If the DAS changes do result in less people in LL lines, that *should* also increase the standby line flow through, theoretically lowering standby wait times.

Now, if that is the case, wouldn’t simple economics dictate that there would be less reason to motivate people to buy G+, if the wait times lowered to a more reasonable number?
Push former DAS to standby to make SB times longer makes G+ more attractive.

Pushing former DAS to standby doesn’t make standby times longer. It makes them shorter because then that former DAS person can’t take up spots in multiple queues at once.
Yes possibly. Disney is trying to sell more LL. I agree with @Touchdown the difference will be minimal as far as SB. The only way you'll see a significant difference in SB is if the LL runs out. I'm happy for the changes regardless as people who really need it will have a better experience. As will people using G+.

I mean, not really though.

It’s one thing to have been participating all along in the conversation. None of us read 160 pages at once.
