New Country at Epcot?!?!?

Just look at a map and you can see that this is a prime location for either a bus entrance or access to a "new transportation system". Now reread all the clever comments above and see if it fits the oblique references.

So maybe a peoplemover/train loop from Futureworld to WS.

Alot of people have trouble hiking it all the way back there.

Anyone for taking the magical journey on the Bifrost Bridge to Asgard to visit Thor, Loki, and Odin?

You all knew The Avengers would be brought in somehow!:ROFLOL:

ScreamScape announced rumors of a new country at Epcot. Just some background- the last country that was added was Norway on July 1,1988. I personally think that they do need a new country with a ride. ScreamScape said they were talking to Brazil. I think that it should be Spain or Australia.
Should Disney add a new country to Epcot?
If so what country should they add?

GREECE!!!!

I vote for Australia...but Greece or Argentina would be good also. Lot's of potential for both food and merchandise sales with all of them.

Actually reading all of the related comments, then seeing that location, I'm thinking of a new inter-park transportation. Piggy backing off of Universal's idea of park transfer with a theme. Or maybe just a regular bus loop:(

This cracked me up. Is it bad that I wouldn't mind this ride so long as I could look at (the actor who plays) Thor's abs? If that's the case then I'm game ;)

Also, I think Australia would be pretty cool. I actually think Russia could be cool too...they could make a mini Kremlin and do something with ballet and/or ice skating.

As much as I think it would be great to see a new country, I would much prefer more additions to other countries.

RIDES RIDES RIDES!!!

Especially after talking to people who have visited BGW, it can be slightly underwhelming when the only attractions in some countries are shops and restaurants.

They don't have the money to pay for it. And if they tried to, the backlash would be a blackeye for disney. tdo isn't that dumb.

How about Bbq.. its really one of the only truly American cuisines. I never thought of it until now but a BBQ restaurant featuring BBQ from all the major regions. It doesn't exactly represent all of America but you have styles from the south east, south west, Midwest. Plus its freaking tasty!

I posted a ways back on some other forum about AA actually getting a TS that would have a menu based on the different regions of out country. They could also put a CS out front that would serve different sandwiches and beverages. It really is a slap in the face that all there is to represent in AA is a gloried burger stand.

Libery Inn is the only area on that entire side of the park where cuisine-picky guests can sit, relax and enjoy some cool air. Also a lot of children are picky eaters as well and this area allows parents to feed their children what they want without having to go all the way back to the Electric Umbrella or Sunshine Seasons.

Disney should pay for it!! It would be a great attraction! Greek food is delicious, they could have white washed buildings, the acropolis/ruins/windmills, a donkey ride...[/quote]

A new country would be nice, but it would be nicer if they just plussed the existing countries with more than just more eateries. Or gift shops. I'd love more cultural entertainment and museums. Rides would be nice, but I'd rather they put all the money into Future World where it is desperately needed. IMHO, World Showcase is just fine as-is.

I feel the timing is wrong for having a new country for World Showcase in terms of Epcot. It would be nice to have a new country, but World Showcase is in great shape unlike Future World. The only issue is a couple of the films needs to be updated for World Showcase including Norway.

Future World has problems that need to be taken care of. Imagination Pavilion is mess and I wouldn't be shocked that Captain EO would be closed within 10 years with nothing replacing it. Future World has a lot of things that need to be updated or refurbished such as Universe of Energy needs a new film.

Good point Raven, never been in there or even thought of it that way. But AA could still do a nice TS. Fried chicken from the south, steak from the midwest, wine from California, mussels from Maine, it could be amazing.

I'd love to see any new Countries in WS but think Greece would be an amazing fit and finally give a home to Hercules and Megara. I think Disney would be willing to foot a sizeable amount of the bill just to have the merhandising options for great characters that are under represented in the parks, and even though Greece may not be in a position to foot the bill, there are plenty of smaller companies in Greece that would probably pay something to have their products associated with Disney.
